In the interaction Pacquiao tells Mayweather, "I have the belt," and Mayweather responds, "I'm going to take it from you like I did before." I feel like these dudes have been beefing since ‘93. Mayweather is 41 and Pacquiao is 39 turning 40 at the end of the year. This fight which will be a major pay day no doubt, will be like watching your two old ass uncles who still hold a grudge from 12 years ago go at it.

The last time these two fought each other was on May 2, 2015 and Mayweather won in 12 rounds by a unanimous decision. Mayweather who is (50-0, 27 KOs) earned a guaranteed purse of $100 million but brought in about $220 million in total. The bout itself resulted in 4.4 million pay-per-view buys which was double the previous record of 2.48 million for the 2007 fight between Mayweather and Oscar De La Hoya. It also brought in more than $400m in domestic pay-per-view revenue. This kind of pay day would wake anyone up from retirement. We get it.

Floyd Mayweather has only fought twice since then with a win over Andre Berto in September 2015 and a 10th-round knockout of Conor McGregor in August 2017. Pacquiao who holds a record of (60-7-2), is coming off a sixth-round stoppage of Lucas Matthysse in July. and is serving as the Senator of the Philippines. Mayweather told us after the McGregor bout that "this was my last fight." This was obviously a lie. Expect this fight to come around December, the fight we all didn’t ask for but are getting just because.
