Eve Confirms New Memoir 'Who’s That Girl'
By: Joshua Martin
Properly named after one of her most popular songs, Who’s That Girl?, the First Lady of the Ruff Ryders is finally telling her story in the form of a new memoir co-written by critically acclaimed hip-hop journalist and author Kathy Iandoli. Set to release later this fall on September 17th, the new book will chronicle the rapper’s rise to prominence in a male-dominated industry, her impact on hip-hop culture, and her iconic fashion choices.
Described as “Fearless, Empowering, and Inspirational,” the biography will also cover her struggles to balance her personal life with her professional hustle, providing more intimate details about her romance with husband Maximilllion Cooper and overcoming her fertility issues.
The book will also include an in-depth look at the multi-hyphenated icon’s gritty West Philly roots and previously untold recollections behind her discography. It explores how she made history as the first artist to win a Grammy for Best Rap-Song Collaboration with Gwen Stefani on Blow Ya Mind, became the third female rapper to have her solo debut on top of the Billboard 200, and entered the rap game under the moniker Eve of Destruction.
The 45-year-old has released four albums, co-starred in 15 films, and even headlined her sitcom Eve for three seasons on the UPN network. Recently, she co-hosted the Emmy-nominated talk show, The Talk, for three years and starred alongside Brandy, Naturi Naughton, and Nadine Velazquez in the musical drama Queens. She also welcomed her son, Wilde Wolfe, in February 2022.
