In 2021, Lil' Kim made an announcement on social media about her upcoming memoir titled ‘The Queen Bee,’ initially scheduled for release in November of the same year. “You thought you knew me, but you have no idea,” in an Instagram post, she revealed that the book was co-written with writer and journalist Kathy Iandoli. After facing unexplained delays, multiple reports suggest that ‘The Queen Bee’ is now scheduled for a release in 2024.

On July 31st, Lil' Kim shared a glimpse of the biography in draft form, signaling a significant step forward towards its release, and also revealed a collaboration with a figure from the fashion world. “It’s been a long journey, Beehive, edits are finally done 🙌,” she posted to twitter. “Thank you to my bestie/soulmate [Marc Jacobs] for doing my forward ♥️”

In addition to Kim's announcement, Iandoli took to Twitter to express the significance of the project, emphasizing the special experience of working with both Kim and Jacobs.

“My first big writing check I ever earned, I used to buy my first Marc Jacobs bag because Lil Kim was his BFF so I needed to have one,” she captioned. “Now I’m here working with Marc Jacobs on the Foreword to Lil Kim’s memoir, that I helped her write. Don’t ever deny the power of manifesting.”

As of now, the pre-release link on Hachette Book Group's website indicates that the memoir is scheduled for release in September 2025, encompassing 256 pages. The description provided by Hachette offers insights into what fans can anticipate from the book's contents.

“Lil’ Kim reveals everything that really went on behind the scenes of her legendary career, much of it for the very first time publicly,” the account stated. “Lil’ Kim also talks about the hidden moments of her reign — her complicated high-profile relationships, the misogynistic industry she fought to change through sex positivity, the challenging double standards of self-image and beauty in the spotlight, and the momentous act of loyalty that ultimately landed her in prison.”

Also, Hachette further revealed a glimpse of the challenges Lil' Kim will revisit in the memoir, including the discrimination she encountered in the male-dominated hip-hop industry.
