Tyga and Offset Celebrate First-Ever Diamond Record for 'Taste'
Tyga and Offset just hit a major milestone in their careers, and it's all about that diamond status. We discuss it here!
Tyga and Offset just hit a major milestone in their careers, and it's all about that diamond status. The RIAA announced on Tuesday, September 24, that Tyga’s 2018 hit “Taste,” featuring Offset, officially sold 10 million copies, earning both artists their first-ever diamond plaque. In a clip shared to X (formerly Twitter), EMPIRE CEO Ghazi Shami and COO Nima Etminan handed Tyga the plaque that celebrates this huge accomplishment. Offset didn’t miss a beat, sharing his excitement on X too.
Tyga took a moment to shout out his fans, writing, "Taste just went diamond 10x platinum😮💨🙏🏾 ..Thank you to everyone that streamed it and twerked to it 😀." Offset followed up with, "Went diamond today God is good," adding, "Man this big to me."

For those who don’t know, a song reaches “Diamond” status when it moves 10 million units. That includes digital sales and 150 streams counting as one unit. “Taste” was the lead single off Tyga’s Legendary album, produced by D.A. Got That Dope, and it’s been a club anthem since it dropped six years ago.
This puts Tyga and Offset in some legendary company. Artists like Lil Wayne, Drake, JAY-Z, Nicki Minaj, Eminem, and 50 Cent have all earned diamond plaques for their chart-topping hits. Earlier this year, Post Malone and Swae Lee's “Sunflower” went double diamond, selling over 20 million copies.
Right now, Tyga’s back on the road with Nicki Minaj, supporting her on the second U.S. leg of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour. The timing couldn’t be better for this well-deserved win.
Congrats to Tyga and Offset! They're officially in that diamond club.

The Weeknd revealed via Instagram the title of his highly anticipated new album Hurry Up Tomorrow in an ominous new teaser trailer. The four time GRAMMY Award winner’s latest effort will serve as the follow up to his 2022 release “Dawn FM.”
Hurry Up Tomorrow will dive into existential and self-referential themes, building on the visionary storytelling of its predecessors.
“Yesterday was fourteen years ago. We held our breath, falling into a shimmering sea in the After Hours of the night... I look in the mirror and feel both old and new, stuck in limbo and unable to move. I still haven’t faced myself. More songs could help, but what do I have left to say? Woe is me in my gilded cage, right? The very thing that once made me invincible failed me on the world stage. A new trauma surfaced, opening floodgates. A new path awaits. When today ends, I’ll discover who I am.”
The global music icon has yet to announce a release date for his latest project, but he has shared snippets of new music on Instagram over the summer. This could be his last full length album under the moniker “The Weeknd.” In an interview last year he suggested that he is ready to close “The Weeknd” chapter.
“I’m going through a cathartic path right now. It’s getting to a place and a time where I’m getting ready to close the Weeknd chapter. I’ll still make music, maybe as Abel, maybe as The Weeknd. But I still want to kill The Weeknd. And I will. Eventually. I’m definitely trying to shed that skin and be reborn. ”
In addition to a new album, The Weeknd will debut new music at his one night only concert on September 7th in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The Live Nation produced concert is currently sold out but will be live streamed across the globe on YouTube.
The Weeknd is also returning to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood next month with The Weeknd: Nightmare Trilogy. Check out the trailer below.

On Friday, August 30th, Big Sean cemented his return to music with the release of his new album, “Better You Than Me.” After a four-year hiatus and catching strays in one of the most historic rap beefs of the decade, he is back, he is better, and he is ready to share all of the blessings and lessons that he’s learned over these last four years of silence. To celebrate his resurgence from solitude, Sean hosted a listening party at NYA Studios in LA for friends, family, press, and fans to enjoy his latest labor of love.
“Imma keep it real with you. As we got to the end of the album, I was paralyzed. I was paralyzed with not knowing what the fuck to do,” he said. “I don’t know why life got so heavy on me at that moment. I was exhausted, I had COVID, and I had decisions to make. Do you want to put the album out, or do you want to wait?”

The space was dark and mysterious, filled with smoke and a small circular stage surrounded by laser lights. As guests awaited Big Sean's grand entrance, we enjoyed complimentary drinks by JAJA, including Ranch Water, Margarita, Paloma, Tequila On The Rocks, and Gin & Juice. During the event, he spilled the tea on where his head was while creating the songs, offering a more in-depth understanding of the records as singles and the project as a whole. This transparency came as no surprise after he announced the album's release via an emotional Instagram Live.
“When I got on IG Live and was emotional and sh*t, it was because I was defeated at that time. I was overwhelmed, I was fucking down bad, and I just felt like I wasn’t in the right vibration, Dawg. I talked to my mom on the phone, and she said, ‘You don’t have the power, God has the power. Do it, baby, do it!”
Clearly taking his mom’s advice, we find ourselves here, celebrating the release of his seventh studio album and his dynamic run as a top artist in the game. As he eagerly performed songs from the album, one of the most touching moments of the evening was when he shared the stage with his father while performing one of his favorite songs, titled “Type Cast.”

At first listen, the album is a solid 9 out of 10, with the only point missing due to the lack of a rollout. This body of work has amazing production, the tracklist flows effortlessly, and Sean definitely brought the bars. The singles "Precision," "YES," and "Who You Are" were perfectly selected to cater to every type of Sean fan, with visuals to match. If you’ve wondered what Big Sean has been up to over the last four years, give “Better You Than Me” a spin and get filled in. Stream the album now on all platforms.
