Victoria Monet Host’s Premiere Party for New Video “Alright”
On Monday, June 10th, 2024, fans and family piled into The Vermont in Los Angeles to celebrate the world premiere of Victoria Monét’s latest music video, “Alright.” The atmosphere was dark and futuristic, with silver, body-sized balloons hanging from the ceiling and displays bearing her name on the walls, leaving all the guests in major anticipation of what the video would deliver. At the open bar, guests enjoyed a choice of four cocktails: Kaymonét, Alright Alright Alright, The Deluxe, and 4K.
Dressed in royal blue from head to toe, Ms. Monét arrived and took the stage to greet her guests. With a time clock winding down 20 minutes on the back screen, she shared her gratitude and excitement for the release of the video. She revealed that the video was shot back in April and spoke about the process and inspiration behind the theme.
“My team found money where there was no money, and we did it during Coachella rehearsals. So, you know it was a labor of love, but we are so proud of it,” said Victoria Monét.
As the clock wound down to zero, the lights were cut, and it was showtime. The video, directed by the legendary Dave Meyers, pays homage to several pop and R&B icons like Mya, Michael and Janet Jackson, Missy Elliott, and Britney Spears. You know it wouldn’t be right if she didn’t tap in with Sean Bankhead for the choreography, and it’s even better the second time around. Everything about the video was amazing, from the costumes and colors to the choreography and iconic references. Victoria Monét has always had striking visuals, but the visuals from Jaguar II are completely next level.
One of the things she is most proud of is releasing the video during PRIDE and Black Music Month because the song is all about liberation and freedom. Since the video's release on Monday, it has already amassed a million views on YouTube and gained so much love from fans and her peers in the industry online. From the looks of it, Victoria is taking the more traditional route with her career by continuing to push Jaguar II by giving captivating visuals that make us fall in love with the songs even more. It’s safe to say that it's working, and soon the people who slept on her will wake up and recognize that she is and has been a superstar!
