Who's Hot? Exclusive | Ep. 31 ft. Benji Stone
By: Adonis Armstrong
Los Angeles artist, Benji Stone, sat down with us in Episode 31 of 'Who's Hot? Exclusive' to discuss his musical upbringing, LA roots, and upcoming projects in April and this summer.
Growing up in a church instilled in him a deep connection to music, inspiring him to evoke emotions through his own music. He sought to establish that same connection with his audience so they could feel the emotions conveyed in his songs.
He creates various types of music within the hip-hop genre, ranging from songs about gang life to inspirational and thought-provoking tracks. Some of his favorites from his catalog are “Do Not Disturb”, “Lead Us Not”, “Thinking Out Loud”, and “Never Take A Loss”.
He also discusses how gang culture significantly affects Los Angeles and how people in the South support each other, while in LA, nobody wants to promote or uplift others. Benji also offers valuable advice to rappers coming out to LA regarding the so-called “Check-In” myth, emphasizing the importance of networking, knowing the people you talk to, and expressing his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone who reaches out to him.
He also plans to release more music this April, titled 'Palm Trees and Politics,' and more this summer, so be on the lookout for new music from Benji Stone.
