Spearheaded by Tony award winning director Kenny Leon, the production is set to open in Spring 2025 at the legendary Shubert Theatre in New York City

The two time Academy Award winner, Washington, will portray Othello, a passionate war general who loses their sanity over jealousy. The role of Desdemona, Othello’s wife, has yet to be cast. Gyllenhal will star as Iago, Denzel’s main antagonist, who convinces Othello to question his wife's fidelity.

According to sources, the most recent Broadway production of Othello was in 1982 starring James Earl Jones as the lead.

Washington, a Tony Award Winner himself, is know stranger to Broadway. He starred in the 2010 production of Fences, which was later turned into a film and also earned a Tony Award nomination for his role as Thedore Hickman in the 2018 revival ‘The Iceman Cometh.’

Top 5 Super Bowl Halftime Shows

Usher's Halftime Show at the Super Bowl proves he's an R&B legend, sparking a debate on the best performances ever. We discuss it here!

By: Joshua Martin

No less than a mega star is considered to headline the coveted Super Bowl Halftime Show. For most artists, that 13-min time slot is a career high point. What we witnessed Sunday was an R&B legend giving us hit after hit and proving that his name undeniably belongs at the top of the genre. Yes, recency bias is a thing but we can’t deny that Usher’s halftime show was definitely one of the best the event has ever had. Not unfair to say it may be the best.

The easiest way to settle this argument would be with a list of our own. Let's end the debate! Here are our top 5 Super Bowl halftime performances of all time.

5. Rihanna - 2023

Rihanna’s FULL Apple Music Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show

Rihanna’s performance was memorable for several reasons, most notably of how many bangers the Grammy-winning singer has in her arsenal. “Diamonds,” “Umbrella,” “We Found Love” were just a few of the whopping 12 singles the Barbados-born singer performed. The set was her first live performance in five years up to that point and the revelation of her being pregnant with her second child made the event an overall joyous occasion.

4.J.Lo & Shakira - 2020

Shakira & J. Lo's FULL Pepsi Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show

The dynamic duo of Jennifer Lopez and Shakira didn't disappoint. Filled with LatinX representation and other surprising elements which included rope dancing, cameos from Bad Bunny and J. Balvin, J. Lo’s child singing “Born in the USA” and their stance on immigration, made this one of the more memorable Halftime Shows ever. Shakira’s physical fluidity and J.Lo’s work ethic also gave us that iconic dance off that had the entire world shook.

3. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar - 2022

Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar & 50 Cent FULL Pepsi SB LVI Halftime Show

This one stands out because it was the first time the halftime show featured an exclusive hip-hop line up that featured some of the genre’s greatest. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar, with a surprise appearance by 50 Cent, served up some of their most iconic songs with flair. Mary J. captivated the crowd with her electric performances of “Family Affair” and “No More Drama,” while Dre and Snoop proved their staying power by performing classics such as “The Next Episode” and “California Love.” Kendrick Lamar lit up the stage with “Alright” as the performance ended with a passionate Eminem taking a knee amid the country’s political issues. All in all, the music took center stage and we were able to witness Snoop Dogg crip walk on live television. Iconic!

2. Michael Jackson - 1993

Michael Jackson - Super Bowl XXVII 1993 Halftime Show (Remastered Perfomance)

The King of Pop was definitely in his performer bag at the 1993 Super Bowl. Doubles entered the stadium from each corner before the real Michael Jackson stood up and performed hits like “Jam” and “Billie Jean.” The finale was epic to say the least. Michael sang the single “ Heal the World” while the onlooking audience held cards that created images of children from across the globe. The truly big production also included a video montage of his various humanitarian efforts around the world and a choir of 3,500 local LA kids.

Prince - 2007

Prince - Super Bowl XLI 🏈 | Halftime Sh

This performance has reached mythical status, partly due to the rain and the fact that not even Mother Nature could stop the “The Purple One”. A spirited rendition of “Purple Rain” and an amazing medley of songs that included Queen’s “We Will Rock You,” his hits “Let’s Go Crazy” and “Baby, I’m a Star” all crescendoed into a downpour on his logo-shaped stage. A special appearance of the Florida A&M marching 100 band and his back band the “New Power Generation” was the icing on the cake which was an unforgettable night Prince and those of us who witnessed it.

Unfortunately, the 8 time Grammy winner didn't crack the top 5. Also, Much apologies to the Queen Bee and her fantastic performance in 2013. Reuniting with Destiny’s Child was what the culture needed at the moment.

Snoop Dogg Releases New Film 'The Underdoggs' on Prime Video

Snoop Dogg releases new film The Underdoggs on Prime Video, offering a unique narrative that blends elements of classic sports movies with the real impact of the Snoop Youth Football League. We discuss it here!

By: Sharmaine Johnson

The Underdoggs is different from your usual sports film, as you quickly discover. Yes, the idea is reminiscent of beloved films like The Mighty Ducks and The Bad News Bears, where a disgraced athlete, in this case, Jaycen “2 Jay’s” Jennings (Snoop Dogg), becomes the team's coach. The film also stars Tika Sumpter, Mike Epps, George Lopez, and Kal Penn in supporting roles and follows Jennings as he battles a young squad with strong personalities and bold attitudes. Fantastic performances were delivered by the six main youth players: Gary (Alexander Michael Gordon), Tony (Adan James Carrillo), Dwayne (Caleb CM Dixon), Ghost (Kylah Davila), and Bale (Shamori Washington).

While we track Jennings's transformation from potential jail time to youth coach and his journey from self-centeredness to selflessness, it's essentially a story about the Snoop Youth Football League. The Snoop Youth Football League was founded in 2005 by the multitalented rapper, artist, and actor from Long Beach, California, and has since benefited over 85,000 young people in the community.

The Underdoggs - Official Trailer | Prime Video

However, there's something a little different about this story—and I'm not just referring to the profanity, which is prevalent. The Underdoggs lead is what gives the team its heart and soul. This is Snoop Dogg's passion project, and it is evidently very important to him. While discussing the significance of this project to him, Snoop Dogg's emotions are clear to see. Not only is he appreciative that it was made, but also that so many people were willing to volunteer to make this vision a reality.

"I feel like people don't realize how much I care about these kids and how much I care about coaching," Snoop shared in a recent interview with For The Win.

It means a lot, people accepting it, people wanting to do it, the movie company wanting to shoot it, the actors signed on. I get emotional behind that because, to believe in me, like, I was an underdog. I am the underdog. I’m the underdog turned wonder dog.
— Snoop Dogg

Nia Long Walks the Red Carpet at The Best Man: Final Chapter Premiere

KEVIN WINTER/GA/THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER VIA GETTY IMAGES

By: Deion Higginbotham

The highly anticipated Michael Jackson movie has found its Katherine Jackson. Best Man star Nia Long has been cast as the mother “Katherine Jackson, the mother of the king of pop. This will be Nia Long’s most prominent role to date.

She will be joining an already top cast, with Oscar Nominee Colman Domingo who will play MJ’s father; the head of the Jackson family Joe Jackson. Also on the cast and the star of the biopic, MJ’s nephew Jaafar Jackson. Nine-year-old actor Juliano Krue Valdi will portray Michael during his younger years with the Jackson five.

Michael died on June 25, 2009 at age 50. In a career that spanned almost his entire life, he had 13 No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart. He first saw success as part of the family band the Jackson 5, and four of their songs topped the Hot 100. Some that we still sing today.

The news of the casting came down today about Nia Long playing Katherine, and I truly believe it will be the star's breakout role that she has long been looking for in her career. With many roles under her belt. This may be the one to bring awards during next year's award season. The film is being directed by Antonio Fuqua (Emancipation, Training Day). It is set to be released in April 2025.

The two time Oscar award winner and one half of the Neptunes, Pharrell Williams, is teaming up with LEGOs and Focus Features to tell his life story in a new film entitled, Piece by Piece. Uninterested in making a traditional biopic, P wanted to tell his story in a way that would set the viewer's imagination free. The multi talented musician and thirteen time Grammy award winner made a post via Instagram to drop a teaser poster for the film.

The poster includes a picture of golden Lego blocks being built, ending in Williams’ walking and donning his Louis Vuitton “Damoflage” print.

Who would’ve thought that playing with Legos as a kid would evolve into a movie about my life. You Can Do It Too. It’s proof that anyone else can do it too… #PieceByPiece.
— Pharrell Williams via IG

According to a press release from Lego, Piece By Piece defies genres and expectations to transport audiences into a LEGO world where anything is possible. The film will be produced by Oscar Award-winner Morgan Neville and Caitrin Rogers in conjunction with “i am OTHER” which is run by Williams, Shani Saxon and Mimi Valdes. The Lego Group’s Jill Wilfert and Keith Malone are tagged as executive producers. Focus Features Chairman Peter Kujawski lauded Skateboard P’s influence. Highlighting his creativity and passion to inspire.

Pharrell Williams is a true trailblazer whose influence across music, art, and fashion continually reshapes global culture with an undeniable sense of joy. In partnering with the inimitable Morgan Neville and the limitless creativity of the Lego brand his visionary spirit comes to life in a wholly unique and uplifting way that will inspire everyone to dance, to sing, and to use their voice to build the world they want to see, brick by brick, and piece by piece.
— Peter Kujawski, Chairman - Focus Features

In 2019 Williams presented the concept to Neville and his team, they were so enamored with the idea they began to work on the project immediately.

Five years ago, Pharrell Williams approached me with the idea of helping him tell his story through Lego animation. It was one of those rare moments where I knew in a second that this was a journey I wanted to go on. I’m grateful to our partners at Focus Features and at the Lego Group for their belief in our crazy mission. We assembled an incredible team of creative collaborators to help make a new type of film. I can’t wait for people to see it.
— Morgan Neville, Film Director

It's unclear at this time what aspects of Williams’ life will be focused on in the film but the singer grew up in Virginia before becoming a highly successful music producer and artist. Piece By Piece will be released in theaters later this fall on October 11th.

Marlon Wayans to Star in Jordan Peele's Latest Horror Film 'GOAT'

Longtime comedic actor Marlon Wayans is set to star in an upcoming horror film produced by Jordan Peele, titled GOAT. We discuss it here!

By: Joshua Martin

Longtime comedic actor Marlon Wayans is set to star in an upcoming horror film produced by Jordan Peele, titled GOAT. This addition of a psychological thriller marks another impressive entry in Wayans' already outstanding film career. The movie, slated for release through Universal Pictures and Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions, has chosen Wayans for the lead role based on studio executives' recommendations.

While Wayans is not typically associated with straightforward horror films, the 51-year-old actor is no stranger to the genre. He, along with his family, played a key role in creating the Scary Movie horror parody franchise and, with a modern twist, A Haunted House. Additionally, he delivered a memorable dramatic performance in the 2000 American psychological drama film 'Requiem for a Dream,' portraying drug addict Tyrone C. Love. Recently, he showcased his versatility with the portrayal of Lou, Will Smith’s father, in the Peacock series, Bel-Air.

Justin Tipping, known for his work on the television series Dear White People and The Chi, is set to direct the film. Win Rosenfeld, Ian Cooper, and Jamal Watson will assist Peele as producers.

According to sources, GOAT explores the dynamics when a promising youth athlete is invited to train with a team’s retiring star, played by Wayans. The movie is based on a spec script from Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie.

Marlon had a busy 2023 with the release of Air, another sports-inspired film, and his stand-up comedy special God Loves Me for MAX. In an interview, the father of two shared his thoughts on the challenges comedians face in creating new material and stand-up comedy routines.

Our job is an unapologetic thing. There are no apologies in comedy. That’s why comedy is such an interesting art. And it’s probably one of the hardest things to do. You have to work yourself so well that you instantly have a filter. Before it leaves your mouth, you know that’s not the right thing to say. You know because you’ve been on stages everywhere, you played to so many different audiences. And like a scientist, you tried all these different formulas. It takes years to figure out what is appropriate to say in the moment because sometimes the most inappropriate thing is the appropriate thing to say.
— Marlon Wayans

GOAT will be the latest addition to Monkeypaw's successful production ventures, following hits such as Wendell & Wild and the box-office smash Nope, starring Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer. An official release date for their latest project has not been announced yet. Stay tuned for more updates here at 247LiveCulture.com.

The Jeffersons: Moving On Up A Black American Sitcom

The Jeffersons stand as the second longest-running sitcom featuring a predominantly black cast, lasting 11 seasons and totaling 253 episodes, from January 18th, 1975, to July 2, 1985. Let’s celebrate 49 years of The Jeffersons here!

The Jeffersons

By: Camille Shanklin

The Jeffersons was a beloved and groundbreaking '70s sitcom starring George (Sherman Hemsley) and Louise "Weezy" (Isabel Sanford) Jefferson, a couple who moved from Queens to Manhattan after successfully opening a dry cleaning chain, Jeffersons Cleaners. It stands as the second longest-running sitcom featuring a predominantly black cast, lasting 11 seasons and totaling 253 episodes, from January 18th, 1975, to July 2, 1985. Inspired by The Black Panthers, Norman Lear aimed to portray the black household in a positive and successful light following controversy over the depiction of the concept of Good Times.

The Jeffersons upgraded to a beautiful condo with new neighbors and new trials. The sitcom was also one of the first shows to openly use the words “Ni***r” and “Honky,” seen only in earlier episodes. George Jefferson had no problem being outspoken and a little too honest about his feelings on any subject, including Tom (Franklin Cover) and Helen's (Roxie Roker, Lenny Kravitz's mother) Willis marriage – an interracial couple that was the first to feature on a sitcom.

The Jeffersons | The Very Best of The Jeffersons (Vol. 1) | The Norman Lear Effect

With a variety of episodes and topics, it undoubtedly sparked conversations around serious matters such as racism, adult illiteracy, alcoholism, and even LGBTQ issues. Despite addressing the tough conversations, The Jeffersons made its way into the homes and hearts of many with its confrontational comedy and witty banter, especially between George Jefferson and their sarcastic housekeeper Florence (Marla Gibbs). Unfortunately, the show ended abruptly with little to no explanation. The actors and actresses found out in their own ways but each went on to achieve great successes, such as Amen.

The Jeffersons paved the way for many other sitcoms that we grew to love, like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and The Cosby Show. We will always remember the George Jefferson walk and, of course, our favorite theme song "Moving on Up," sung by Oren Waters and Good Times actress Ja’net Dubois.

An Ode To 32 Years of Juice

Juice premiered on January 17th, 1992, and grossed 8.8 million dollars at the box office on its opening weekend. Let’s celebrate 32 years of Juice here!

Juice Movie

By: Camille Shanklin

Juice premiered on January 17th, 1992, and grossed 8.8 million dollars at the box office on its opening weekend. As we celebrate another year of this classic black film, we reflect on the iconic art that is Juice.

Juice Cast

Juice is a thriller-drama directed and co-written by Ernest R. Dickerson, who also collaborated with director and filmmaker Spike Lee. Starring Roland Bishop (played by Tupac Shakur), Quincey “Q” (played by Omar Epps), Raheem (played by Kahlil Kain), and Steel (played by Jermaine Hopkins), the film follows four friends navigating through the world. After committing a robbery at Bodegas to gain respect in the hood, this crime only fueled Bishop's desire to obtain the Juice, especially after witnessing their friend Blizzard, recently released from prison, hold up a bar and get killed by the police.

Tupac, known as a Los Angeles Death Row Records rapper, became the “IT Guy” for Hollywood movies. Juice portrayed a dark depiction of how friendships can evolve from innocent fun to deadly egomaniacal tribulations. Tupac Shakur received high recognition for his outstanding performance as Bishop, marking his first movie and a starring role. He captivated audiences, staring at Q and saying,

You remember that motherf*cker, ‘cause I’m the one y’all need to be worried about.
— Bishop (Tupac Shakur)

Tupac's role created a dark persona that we weren't ready for. Juice remains a top-five favorite for many and continues to be a trending movie today. Featuring celebrities like Samuel L. Jackson, Queen Latifah, and Fab Five Freddy, Juice is guaranteed to captivate you as the characters are torn apart by tragedy and intentional disarray.

Celebrating 28 Years of Don't Be A Menace

On this day twenty-eight years ago, Don’t Be A Menace hit the theaters. Let’s celebrate 28 years of Don’t Be A Menace here!

Shawn Wayans and Marlon Wayans in Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood

By: Deion Higginbotham

My connection and memory of the release of Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood back in the day involves noting a brief but intense burst of popularity surrounding it at the video store where my brother worked. He and his friends were so excited when he brought it home. I remember my mom saying I couldn’t watch it because it was rated R. I cried hard that day. I recall how popular the Wayans were at the time. My older brother sneaked me into the room just so I could watch it. I remember dying laughing at the scene where the Shawn Wayans character is doing foreplay with Dashiki with food. Watching it years later as an adult, that was a top-of-the-line comedy.

The field was certainly ripe for parody after a flood of urban-centered movies hit theaters in the ’90s. All of them had something important to express, but even so, certain shared tropes emerged and trends solidified. That was a perfect storm for a spoof. From Higher Learning to Boyz in the Hood and Menace to Society, we, as a culture, were flooded with trauma movies. Someone had to make us laugh, and the Wayans did just that.

Unlike other coming-of-age films with largely positive themes, this flick taps into black cinema’s exploration of hard lives in crime-ridden neighborhoods. It’s mean and rude almost all the way through, but in a winking way to say, “If it’s satire, that makes it all right.” The Wayans brought us the spoof at the right time for the culture and continue to do so in today’s time (Marlon Wayans' 'Haunted House' franchise). All in all, 'Don’t Be A Menace' is still a household name with quotes that I use to this day. It’s part of black culture and will go down in the Comedy Hall of Fame.

Rating: 8.5/10

Stomp The Yard Turns 17

On this day seventeen years ago, we witnessed the debut of Chris Brown and Columbus Short in their breakthrough starring roles in Stomp the Yard. We celebrate 17 years of Stomp The Yard here!

By: Camille Shanklin

On this day seventeen years ago, we witnessed the debut of Chris Brown and Columbus Short in their breakthrough starring roles in Stomp the Yard. This film was a highly anticipated, not only for the love of dance, step, and HBCU but also for every girl's chance to see their favorite heart throb on the movie screen. The $21 million box office opening weekend exceeded the expectations of the filmmakers' original perception.

The film is set at a fictional HBCU where Darrell “DJ” Williams, played by Columbus Short, is sent to live with his aunt and uncle after the tragic death of his brother Duron, played by Chris Brown, at an underground dance battle with the dance crew Thug Unit and DJ's crew Goon Squad. DJ settles in Georgia to make a new life and forget his past. Unfortunately, the passion for dance wouldn’t let him go. He finds himself in a battle against the well-respected fraternity Mu Gamma Xi after becoming a part of the long-standing rival fraternity Theta Nu Theta. DJ challenges his ego, anger, and pride.

The whole world was shocked and even cried when Chris Brown's character was short-lived. We sat and watched, hoping that DJ would go back to dancing and representing his brother. However, we didn't foresee the reason why DJ had so many issues after dating April (played by Meagan Good). Her father, who was the dean of the school, had a vendetta against DJ because of his uncle. Gasping for air, we wondered if he would make it through to the finals with his fraternity brothers. Grant (played by Darrin Henson) became the antagonist, making us despise him even after the movie ended.

Personally, if you resonated with DJ's pain of losing his brother, masking it for so long, and then having to continue with life as if nothing happened just so no one would see your emotion, then you understood the irrational thinking and pressure he was under to pray he makes it out of his legal situation that the school had no idea about. The movie also taught a lesson that you can change and never give up on your passion. From the dope soundtrack with the movie's theme song “Go Hard or Go Home” by E40 to the inspiring dance style, Stomp the Yard did exactly what we wanted it to do in the end and will always be a captivating, incomparable movie that will remain one of our favorites.

Ice Cube and Mike Epps in Next Friday

By: Deion Higginbotham

Many movies in Black cinema are considered “classics,” and among them is Ice Cube’s sequel to his first hit, Next Friday. Not many can boast back-to-back hits after their first big success, but Ice Cube certainly can. The follow-up to his initial movie was an even bigger hit, leaving us with quotes still resonating in the culture 24 years later. Whether you're a long-time fan or new to it, this timeless film will still have you laughing till your stomach hurts.

The film starred Ice Cube, Mike Epps, and the late John Witherspoon. Ice Cube mentioned that they cast Witherspoon as the dad because he reminded him of his father, changing the game. Many of the stars credited Witherspoon as the comedic glue that held everyone together, bringing his A-game to the franchise.

Ice Cube has revealed that he's working on the final installment titled Last Friday. Although the script is done, it's currently undergoing revisions with the studio. Unfortunately, the late John Witherspoon won't be part of the newest installment, and it's expected that there will be a dedicated portion for the beloved actor when Last Friday finally comes.

In Next Friday, Mike Epps took over Chris Tucker's Smokey character as Craig’s cousin, continuing to play the same character in the third movie, Friday After Next. Providing us with many more laughs, we hope to see these two characters on our screens again soon.

A classic sequel deserves its flowers, so let's celebrate this amazing Black movie for 24 more years.

Rating: 10/10

Oscar-winning actress and award-winning producer Regina King will portray the trailblazing political icon Shirley Chisholm in an upcoming Netflix film titled Shirley. The film will chronicle her journey from becoming the first Black woman elected to Congress in 1963, representing New York’s 12th district, to her groundbreaking run for the United States presidency in 1972—the first Black woman to seek a major party’s nomination for President, running as a Democrat.

Netflix recently released the official trailer, showcasing the unforgettable moment when, in front of an all-Black audience, Chisholm announced her run for the presidency on January 25th, 1972.

Shirley Trailer

I am not the candidate of black America, although I am Black and proud. I am not the candidate of the women’s movement of this country, although I am a woman and I’m equally proud of that. I am not the candidate of any political policies or fat cats or special interests. I stand here now, without endorsements from any big-name politicians or celebrities or any other kind of prop. I do not intend to offer you the tired clichés that have too long been accepted as part of our political life. I am the candidate of the people of America.
— Shirley Chisholm

However, the trailer only provides a small glimpse into her powerful story.

SHIRLEY tells the story of the first Black Congresswoman and political icon, Shirley Chisholm, and her trailblazing run for president of the U.S. It chronicles her audacious, boundary-breaking 1972 presidential campaign.
— Netflix press release

King has long admired Chisholm’s spirit, spending nearly 15 years working with her sister Reina King to develop the movie.

It was always a little disheartening for Reina and me to have so many people over the years of our lives not know who Shirley Chisholm was. What she did was so pioneering. She was a true maverick, and, you know, we use this term all the time, but she was a true first.
— Regina King

American screenwriter John Ridley signed on to direct and write the film, along with King. His sister Reina King, Anikah McLaren, and Elizabeth Haggard are tabbed as producers. Shirley will also star Terrance Howard, the late Lance Reddick, Lucas Hedges, Amirah Van, and more.

Shirley is set to be released this spring on Netflix on March 22, 2024.

Celebrating 29 Years of The Wayans Bros

On January 11, 1995, a television show from the minds of two Wayans Brothers premiered during one of TV’s heydays for black sitcoms. We discuss it here!

Wayans Brothers

By: Deion Higginbotham

On January 11, 1995, a television show from the minds of two Wayans Brothers premiered during the heydays for black sitcoms. Starring Marlon Wayans, his brother Shawn, and the late John Witherspoon, the show itself is packed with moments of outrageous comedy while centering on the importance of family support as one chases a dream. The series ran for five seasons before its end in 1999. I have many fond memories of this series; it is one of my top 10 shows ever.

Clip | Wayan Bros | Warner Archive

Here’s a fun fact that’s important to note because you never will hear about it. The Wayans Bros was one of the top shows 29 years ago. It set the tone for WB when it was all black content. It even had better numbers than NBC’s top show, Friends. The Wayans bros have even joked about never getting the respect to do a final episode after a five-season run. But what they did get was the respect and love from their audience. The show turned the two brothers into movie stars. They went on to do many other projects together as a top dynamic duo. Movies such as Mo Money, White Chicks, The Scary Movie Series, and Little Man have all been box office successes.

The Wayans Bros series continues to inspire new generations and provide laughter throughout families down a line of many generations. Creating art like that goes a long way on the road to building a memorable legacy, which the Wayans family has done forever and continues to do. Cheers to them for creating amazing content that is still consumed and remembered 29 years later.
