The BET Hip Hop Awards 2023 will forever be remembered for Kendrick Lamar's groundbreaking achievements. Hailing from Compton, California, Kendrick has long been celebrated as one of hip hop's most beloved and influential artists. He was already riding high in 2023 after securing the Best Rap Album award at the Grammys for his highly anticipated Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers album.
Kendrick Lamar's influence extends far beyond his impressive award collection. He is an artist who has paved the way for many of our favorite performers, leaving an undeniable mark on the world of hip-hop.
With 161 awards and 399 nominations under his belt, he made history once again at the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards. In a remarkable feat, he became the first hip-hop artist to win back-to-back awards in the "Best Video Director" category, alongside his creative partner, Dave Free. The only other artist to achieve this was the legendary Hype Williams, who held the title for four consecutive years from 2009 to 2012.
In addition to this milestone, Kendrick Lamar dominated the awards night by bringing home victories in three other major categories. He was named Hip Hop Artist of the Year, tied with Kanye West and Jay Z for the most wins in the Best Live Performer category, and secured the title of Lyricist of the Year for the ninth time. Kendrick's impressive haul made him the biggest winner of the night.
Kendrick Lamar Makes History At BET Hip Hop Awards
Of course, Kendrick wasn’t the only star who received major love and support that night. The show was hosted by the Grammy-nominated Terror Squad Rapper and Media Personality Fat Joe at the Cobb Energy Center in Atlanta, Georgia, with a lineup that left fans buzzing. Let's get into some of the highlights of the night.
The show opened with a bang as Sexy Redd took the stage, delivering a captivating performance of Pound Town. The audience sang along, word for word, setting the tone for a memorable evening. DaBaby followed, showcasing a mashup of Ghetto Girls and the Shake Sumn Remix, further elevating the energy in the room. Hip-hop legend Jadakiss made a surprise appearance, leaving the crowd in awe.
The BET Hip Hop Awards 2023 will go down in history not only for its breathtaking performances but also as a testament to the enduring impact of Kendrick Lamar on the music industry.

21 Savage To Perform In London For The First Time After Finally Receiving His Green Card

After a well-publicized battle with immigration, 21 Savage is making headlines again as he plans to return to his native land London for an international tour. This exciting news follows the announcement from his immigration attorney that 21 Savage has officially become a U.S. citizen.
“She’yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph followed all applicable Immigration laws since his initial detention by ICE. His immigration court proceedings have now been terminated and he is a lawful permanent resident of the United States with the freedom to travel internationally.”
Born as Sha Yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph in the United Kingdom, the 30-year-old rapper legally immigrated to the United States at a young age. However, his journey took an unexpected turn in 2019 when he was arrested and detained by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Atlanta during what was described as a "targeted operation with federal and local law enforcement partners." The root of the 2019 incident can be traced back to a 2005 visa that had expired after just one year.
“The worst thing was sitting in there not knowing what was going to happen, or when it was going to happen. Whenever I went to jail before, it was, ‘You’re being charged with this and going to court on this date.’ But immigration ain’t like that. You’re just being held.”
The aftermath of his arrest plunged 21 Savage into a long public legal battle to remain in the United States and avoid deportation. As of April, his immigration status remained in limbo due to pending criminal charges in Georgia.
Fast forward to October, and the status of 21 Savage's citizenship woes appears to have been revealed in Drake's track 8 AM in Charlotte, where the Toronto-born rapper raps, "Savage got a green card straight out of the consulate/Where I go, you go, brother, we Yugoslavian." Notably, the two artists are currently wrapping up their It's All A Blur North American Tour. This tour had a surprising twist this past August when 21 Savage couldn't enter Canada due to his ongoing immigration issues. Headlining artists Travis Scott and J. Cole stepped in as surprise guests at the Vancouver and Montreal concerts, respectively.
21 Savage himself took to Instagram to share his excitement about his upcoming return to London. He posted a video entitled "London I'm Coming Home," which features footage of his childhood memories in London set to Skylar Grey's Coming Home. This moment is pivotal for the superstar rapper as he prepares to perform in London for the first time in his career.
In reflecting on his immigration journey, 21 Savage has noted that the visa application process can be discouraging for many immigrants who lack proper documentation, as it can "hang over your head forever."
According to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) website, obtaining a visa is a lengthy and challenging process for individuals initially immigrating to the United States. It involves multiple steps before a visa or green card is issued. In the case of the British rapper, he was eligible for an adjustment of status, a process that allows individuals to apply for lawful permanent resident status (also known as applying for a green card) while they are present in the United States, without having to return to their home country to complete visa processing.
21 Savage's journey from his early immigration challenges to his current status as a U.S. citizen and his plans to return to London for an international tour is a remarkable story of perseverance and achievement. It sheds light on the complexities of the immigration system and the impact it can have on individuals' lives and careers. As fans eagerly await his London performance, the rapper's journey continues to captivate and inspire.

Keefe D Arrested as Suspect in Tupac's Murder Case
The Tupac Shakur murder case reopens with Keefe D, aka Duane Davis arrested in connection to the incident. We discuss it here!
By: Gentel Sharrie
In 1996, the world lost a legendary figure when Tupac Shakur was tragically murdered in the streets of Las Vegas during a drive-by shooting. This unsolved murder has continued to captivate the public's imagination for decades. However, recent developments in the case have shed new light on this long-standing mystery. The arrest of Keefe D, whose real name is Duane Davis, has sparked renewed interest in the investigation.
Keefe D, a member of the South Side Compton Crips gang, now faces first-degree murder charges in connection with Tupac's killing. What makes this development particularly intriguing is the fact that Keefe D was reportedly inside the Cadillac at the time of the fatal shooting. This chilling incident occurred following the highly anticipated Mike Tyson and Bruce Sheldon fight at the MGM Grand. Keefe D himself confirmed in an interview that he was in the back seat of the vehicle from which the shots were fired at Tupac. His arrest includes charges of murder with the use of a deadly weapon, as well as intent to promote, further, or assist a criminal gang.
The investigation into Tupac's murder has spanned an astonishing 27 years, leaving many to wonder if Suge Knight, the former CEO of Death Row Records and the man who bailed Tupac out of jail, will finally break his silence and testify regarding the arrest of Keefe D. Suge Knight played a pivotal role in Tupac's career, helping him release some of his most iconic hits, such as All Eyez On Me.
While Suge Knight was present on that fateful night when Tupac was gunned down, he has steadfastly refused to cooperate with authorities or divulge any information related to the shooting. This stance is significant, given that Keefe D and Suge Knight are the only two surviving witnesses out of the six individuals present that night. Law enforcement officers have stated that Keefe D allegedly procured the weapon used in Tupac's murder.
As this complex and enduring case continues to unfold, the world remains on edge, hoping that this arrest may finally bring closure to the untimely and tragic demise of one of hip-hop's most beloved icons.

Inglewood's History Comes Alive in Autumn Breon's Performance Of 'Still Here'
Autumn Breon, the renowned multidisciplinary artist, unveiled her captivating live performance, Still Here at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, CA, adding a vibrant chapter to the city's rich history. We discuss it here!
Autumn Breon - Still Here
Autumn Breon, the renowned multidisciplinary artist, unveiled her captivating live performance, Still Here, on Saturday, September 23rd. This extraordinary event marked the grand opening of Residency Art Gallery's new location at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, CA, adding a vibrant chapter to the city's rich history.
Drawing inspiration from the cultural tapestry of Inglewood, Autumn Breon orchestrated a performance that was nothing short of mesmerizing. The soundscape was adorned with the harmonious melodies of the Grant A.M.E. Church Choir and the spirited rhythms of the Black Fist Brass Band. What sets this performance apart from others is the interactive nature, inviting the audience to approach Autumn Breon, pluck a memory note from her hair, and embark on a journey through Inglewood's cherished past.
Autumn Breon
Autumn Breon's motivation for this project is deeply rooted in the changing landscape of Inglewood. She believes that as the city evolves, it is vital to pay homage to its historical significance. Residency Art Gallery, founded in 2016, shares this commitment, being one of the few Black-owned commercial art spaces dedicated to serving LA's diverse communities.
The gallery's mission is to amplify the voices of contemporary artists who create art that resonates with their communities. Often, these narratives get lost or misappropriated in predominantly White, affluent, and inaccessible art spaces elsewhere in the city. Residency Art Gallery seeks to answer a fundamental question: How can art by people of color reach its intended audience within their own neighborhoods?
Autumn Breon's work encapsulates a powerful message of liberation through a queer Black feminist lens. Employing various mediums, including performance, sculpture, and public installation, she encourages audiences to explore intersectional identities and the memories of the African Diaspora. Her previous work, (Don't) Use Me, examined the concept of time through the lens of Black women's labor, shedding light on the stark racial and gender pay disparities.
Autumn Breon - Don't Use Me
Breon's art is a call to action, an invitation for the public to participate in reimagining and building systems that render oppressive ones obsolete. She has an impressive portfolio, having created commissions for institutions like the Art Production Fund, Frieze Art Fair, and the ACLU of Southern California, and her performances have graced prestigious venues like Hauser & Wirth, the Walt Disney Concert Hall, and the Water Mill Center.
Autumn Breon's journey has been one of intellectual and artistic exploration, from her studies in Aeronautics and astronautics at Stanford University to her innovative work in the realm of art. She is also the recipient of the Crenshaw Dairy Mart Fellowship for Abolition & the Advancement of the Creative Economy.
Still Here was an immersive experience, a testament to Autumn Breon's unwavering commitment to storytelling and activism through art. This performance not only celebrates Inglewood's heritage but also serves as a beacon of hope for the future, where art transcends boundaries and speaks directly to the hearts of its intended audience.

A special arrival of Destiny's Child members showered the NRG Stadium with a grand surprise. Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, LaTavia Roberson, and LeToya Luckett were all in attendance for the Renaissance World Tour at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. The last time we saw DC3 (Kelly, Beyonce, and Michelle) was at Beychella in 2018 when the girls struck the crowd with the iconic Charlie's Angels pose. With the background music to 'Girl' by DC3 and a mashup with 'Lose My Breath,' we knew that this reunion would be one for the books.
Yet, we saw the girls come together with two more original members in Houston. Only missing Farrah Franklin, the crowd was surprised to see the group back together once more. Does this foreshadow that the singing group will take the stage soon in a reconciliation stage tour? The dreamers can only imagine. There has been high-speed talk of 'what if's' and hypotheses of this actually coming to pass.
Destiny's Child - Medley | Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival 2018 (4K)
Since the 1990s, the bunch has played excessively on all platforms. Even when Beyoncé became a solo artist, the love for Destiny's Child remains perpetually extant. Gradually coming to an end of the Renaissance tour, we can only pray that this will all come true. We would love to see these legendary women holding hands and optimistically setting their next stage on fire.

Hip-Hop's 50th Anniversary: The Gucci Mane Effect
Gucci Mane’s contributions to Hip-Hop have solidified his spot on Trap Mount Rushmore. We give Gucci his flowers as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop. We discuss it here!
On June 25, 2017, Gucci Mane was present at the BET Awards held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.

By: Vince Wilson
As the celebration of Hip Hop’s 50th Anniversary continues, there have been a lot of props paid to various pioneers of the culture. A pioneer I want to pay homage to is Gucci Mane. The East Atlanta native and self-proclaimed TrapGod is for sure an architect of the Trap Music genre. He has helped put on many of the artists in this generation of southern rappers. I look at Gucci Mane as the Red Auerbach of rap.
Dr. Dre is given a lot of credit for discovering talent, but Snoop Dogg is the only one he made an icon; you can throw Eminem in there, although he was already bubbling and self-made on the battle scene in Detroit. 50 cent was similarly brought to him. There are a lot of instances in Dre's case where young apprentices didn't work out, from Lady of Rage, Hittman, to Bishop Lamont leading to an endless list of promised albums and collabs that never came to fruition.
The complete opposite goes for Gucci Mane, who is not credited to be as influential to Hip Hop as Dr.Dre but is just as intricate in the growth of the culture, particularly in the South. The Lemonade rapper has been the epicenter of the rap game for the last 20 years.
Gucci Mane - Bricks (Official Video
To understand how and why Gucci is so great at recognizing and cultivating talent, you have to understand his journey. Not wanting to be an artist initally, a natural hustler, Gucci wanted to be like Jermaine Dupri, orchestrating things from behind the scenes. Unlike many label owners of his generation, Gucci Mane did not have to sign an artist to push and support them, which is understated in this industry full of Puff Daddy’s and Bird Mans. If he liked and believed in an artist’s talent he would throw them on a track amplifying their careers. The Gucci Mane effect includes, but is not limited to Young Thug, Waka Flocka Flame, OJ Da JuiceMan, Future, Zaytoven, Mike WIl Made It, Lex Luger, Southside, Nicki Minaj, The Migos, and Pooh Sheisty.
Legend has it that Gucci Mane signed Young Thug to a Bag of Money before ever hearing him rap. Thug was brought to Gucci by the late Atlanta legend, Pee Wee Longway, who told Gucci to sign him on the spot. Only needing Pee Wee's blessing, he signed Thugger that night. Young Thug slept in the studio that night, starting his journey to be the biggest rapper in the game through Gucci’s push. In the same year, the New York Times Best-Selling Author signed The Migos, making collaborative projects with both that helped blow them up.
The first time Future caught my ear was on a Gucci Mane track called ‘Sometimes,’ on the original TRAP GOD mixtape. A certified banger. Gucci Mane was the first artist to make a collab tape with Future in 2011 titled FREE Bricks. He recognized the potential in the multitalented artist before he started penning records for the biggest pop stars in the game like Beyoncé.
Gucci Mane and Future
Having difficulty blowing up in New York, Nicki Minaj was steered to Atlanta and Gucci Mane’s 1017 label, providing her opportunities through Waka Flocka’s Manager/Mom. Gucci then connected Nicki with the Trapaholics, who would be the vehicle for her legendary Beam Me Up Scotty Mixtape. This project got her snagged up by Young Money and the rest is history.
Gucci Mane’s ear for beats is also severely underrated. Zaytoven is Gucci’s first in-house producer, crafting the sound of countless mixtapes and his first two albums, Trap House and Hard 2 Kill. Zaytoven’s awkward piano-heavy sound would be synonymous with Gucci Mane’s awkward slow flow that would become one of the most prolific MC/Producer combos alongside The Guru and Premier. Since then, Zaytoven has become one of the most sought-after producers in the game, producing for The Migos, Drake, and Future’s most classic tape to date, Beast Mode.
Gucci Mane also discovered teenaged Mike Will Made It before he became the biggest producer in the world, producing billboard hits for Miley Cyrus during her urban radio phase. Mike Will produced various tracks for Gucci Mane before blowing up commercially, including the legendary Trap Back series. Featured in that Trap Back series were also Lex Luger and Southside, young producers signed to 1017 that crafted the sound of trap music for the rest of the decade. You can hear Lex Luger on two of Rick Ross’ biggest records BMF and MC Hammer (featuring Gucci Mane). Southside went on to become one of the most popular producers in rap. Producing the majority of Future’s classic mixtape Monster before becoming an integral part of the drill sound.
Despite his upward trajectory in the trap music genre, Gucci Mane was sentenced to three years in prison for a gun charge putting a halt on his fast progression. This was a time of transformation for the Bricks rapper coming to back society clean, sober, and in shape with chiseled abs. Some people believe the glow-up was too unreal and dubbed him a ‘clone’.
After Gucci Mane was released, the rest of Hip Hop immediately blessed and embraced him with opportunities like the ones he had provided for so many before. The fruits of his labor paid off from the seeds he helped water as the hottest artist in the game immediately paid their blessings to the Trap God upon his return. Drake gifted him a track for his album,’ Back on Road,’ and also hopped on Gucci’s track ‘Both’. Migos pulled in Gucci to be a part of their classic album, Culture for the track ‘Slippery’. Young Thug paid hommage and hopped in the video ‘Guwop’s Home,’ and Mike Will put Gucci on his first Billboard #1 with his group Rae Sremmurd’s smash ‘Black Beatles’.
Gucci continues to exhibit the work ethic that made him undeniable in the mid-2000s. He dropped 6 albums in 6 years and established a new wave of young artists with his new 1017 imprint, including the currently incarcerated Pooh Sheisty.
Gucci Mane is a legend who has cemented his place and legacy on the Mount Rushmore of trap music. A Rushmore that features Jeezy, TI, Gucci, and Future, respectively. Unlike TI and Jeezy, you can see the influence Gucci Mane has on the current artists. I can hear Gucci Mane in Young Thug, Young Nudy, and 21 Savage, as he has outlasted his peers on the Trap Rushmore, eclipsing Young Jeezy and TI in musical longevity and relevance. As we celebrate 50 years of Hip Hop and its remarkable and vast story; we must realize that this story could not be told, without Gucci Mane.

Christmas will never be the same, as R&B songstress Brandy is set to release a collection of songs this holiday season. A&R executive Jaha Johnson took to social media to reveal the singer's next project, while also dropping a possible hint at the title for the upcoming festive album: 'A Brandy Christmas.'
Further examination of the whiteboard in the clip also provides a glimpse of how many songs could be included on the LP. Ramsey can be seen placing 11 titles on the board as he attempts to arrange them in order. Fans can also spot some of the potential track titles from the holiday album. The introduction appears to be called “Feels Different,” while the second track is titled “Celebrate My Baby.”
While a date for the Christmas album wasn’t given, it could coincide with Brandy’s next film. In March 2022, Brandy revealed she is set to star in Netflix’s original film, Best. Christmas. Ever.
The comedy directed by Mary Lambert will feature the singer playing the role of Jackie, a woman with a seemingly perfect life. However, when a 'twist of fate' unexpectedly reconnects Jackie with her old college friend, Charlotte (Heather Graham), just before Christmas, Charlotte is determined to prove that Jackie's life isn't as spectacular as it seems. Her attempts to expose Jackie end up doing more harm than good, and Christmas is nearly ruined. It's up to the two of them to right the wrongs. The film also stars Jason Biggs from Orange Is The New Black and Matt Cedeno from 'Power.' Best. Christmas. Ever is scheduled to be released on Netflix on November 16, 2023.

On Tuesday, September 12, 2023, Breaking Sound, a global platform, hosted an event at Adults Only to showcase up-and-coming artists. Chala Shirae, an underground singer, stepped foot on stage to show off her vocal skills and definitely gained some new fans.
I Want You Around - Snoh Aalegra Cover by Chala Shirae
Chala has continuously made a name for herself. From Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Los Angeles, California, she has shattered the mainstream image and carved her unique path. Chala mentions how she used her music to escape from reality and she wants to be able to touch others around the world so that she can do the same for her fans.
“My music is different. It has a nostalgic early 2000s vibe with a modern twist—very R&B, very pop, with a hint of a throwback classic feel in some of the songs.”
From her unique look, charisma, and angelic voice to everyone she has worked with in the past, Chala has taken charge of her sound and put matters into her own hands. Collaborating with P-Diddy himself, Stevie J, Keith Harris, Matt Cash, and many more, you can only assume that this girl will soon be a BIG deal.
“I see my music growing in the next year and reaching audiences I haven’t reached yet! Through bookings and performances, I’ve been gaining momentum, so I’m hoping to be featured on a few Spotify playlists to really get the ball rolling.”
Chala Shirae has just released a new single called "Someway, Somehow."
“Everyone should expect an upbeat, poppy, feel-good song about unrequited love. It’s about convincing yourself that you will get the person you want—even if they don’t want you back. Ha ha.”
From the looks of it, Chala will soon be at the top of the billboards and hopefully working with her dream artist, André 3000. To stream her music, you can search "Chala Shirae" on all platforms. This is a moment you will not want to miss out on!

Beyoncé

The Renaissance tour has quickly navigated its way to the big city. Beyoncé just celebrated her birthday in LA this past Monday and let’s just say the girls ate that silver fashion right on up! Excuse me, we are the visuals!!! Silver is not the easiest of colors to pull off, but I want to help you make sense of your fashion sense and by the time you’re done getting dressed, you will be Beyoncéddddd with an extra ‘ssssss’. The new terminology that states your fit might’ve been touched by the Queen herself, so let’s get into it.
I want to talk to the girls that wants to make whatever they have in their closet work first, so this is for you:
Minimum to Maximum:
What you need are jeans, boyfriend/girlfriend jeans or shorts. If you go with the jeans – you need a plain white shirt, rather if it’s a white tank, beater, crop, any would honestly do.
You want to make sure the bottoms are loose since you want your top tight as possible and I mean as hell. Now you accessorize: Add any jewelry, big silver necklace or a long silver chain. To go a step further, you can bedazzle your hair and put some silver studs in your ear. Wear white shoes and make sure you have a clutch that has a little silver in it or shoot, even the whole thing. Take your time on your makeup and hair and just like that you look like that girl.
With only seven more days left of the tour, my sisters, we have to get it together!!! Bey said to wear silver so if you have the coins to make this happen, let’s get into it. If not, it’s OK don’t fret, follow the advice above!
Photo credit: @kiana.haywood thinking outside the box with clothes she already had in her closet. If make it work was a person
Think Big, Think Beyoncé:
There’s so many stores to shop online, but make sure you’re not following the trend everyone else is doing, but if you are – the idea is to wear the pieces in an unconventional way. For example, if you find that same, cute, silver skirt that all the girlies are wearing, then figure out how to wear it as a shirt and vice versa. Go get some hoops from your local beauty supply and click them thangs all through your ponytail.
Zara, Fashion Nova, Shein have a lot of silver options. Use the site to your advantage and see how you can add a twist to your look. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box. Think Big, think Beyoncé.

Less Clothes, More Thought:
And lastly, less is more (well, less clothes at least). A see-through outfit that has sparkles with a black bodysuit underneath will do you good. Pair it with some comfortable shoes. I got my sparkly converse dupes from Fashion Nova.
Plus, they’re on sale now! Wear your shorts – the shortest of shorts. No matter the color, add sparkles, foil, anything – then pair it with a cute bralette, and an oversized blazer.
Remember, the key is accessories! Either way, it’s not what you wear, it's who’s wearing it. So whatever you wear, just make sure you are confident! It’s you – and you are beautiful inside and out. Make sure you tag us in your fits @247liveculture. We would love to see how our article assisted you in your Beyoncéd journey!

Gunna set the stage ablaze in his first sold-out show, 'The Gift,' since being released from jail, and the fans loved it. He performed every song off of his new LP from start to finish. The Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, was the site where the YSL affiliate graced the stage for the first time since his release in December 2022.
His set include hits songs like "Hot," "Back At It," and most notably the viral hit "F*kumean."

Gunna’s performance at the Barclays Center was the first of two shows he has scheduled for this month. His next show, 'The Curse,' will take place at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles on September 28.
Gunna is currently on tour, promoting his latest project, 'A Gift and A Curse,' which has received mixed reviews due to allegations of him cooperating with his YSL co-defendants last year. This controversy explains why he has never performed the song live. Despite the criticism, the album has earned Gunna his first top-ten single on the Billboard Hot 100 as a solo artist with "F*Kumean," which peaked at number 3 in July.
Gunna also partnered with PLUS! and the nonprofit Goodr for 'The Gift.' $1 from every ticket sold was donated to the Goodr Foundation, an organization that, according to their website, "strives to end world hunger by cultivating countless resources." If his Los Angeles show draws a substantial audience, it wouldn't be surprising to see a full-scale tour in the near future.
YSL RICO Trial Update
While Gunna is free and performing, his YSL peers are looking at a much bleaker situation. Thug and seven other defendants are facing numerous charges relating to the group's operations in Atlanta. Despite the trail starting in January, jury selection is still ongoing. In spite of renewed pleas for Young Thug to receive bond, he and many of his peers remain behind bars. The trail is set to resume in October, with many legal experts projecting that the case could last another six to 8 months.

Last night Beyoncè shut Inglewood down as night 1 of 3 of the Renaissance World Tour began at the Sofi Stadium. Everyone got the Queen’s wardrobe requests as the entire stadium shimmered in their finest silver fashions for the occasion. If you’ve ever seen Beyoncè in concert before, you know that she doesn’t curate an opening act kind of show. With all of the star quality in LA, she switched up her game. Who better to get a crowd warmed up than DJ Khaled himself?
Bringing some of his comrades along for the ride, Khaled summoned 2Chainz to the stage to perform an ode to the Virgos with Birthday Song. There were also performances and appearances from Wiz Khalifa, Roddy Ricch, Coi Leray, Offset, and the legendary Lil Wayne. Due to technical difficulties, Weezy wasn’t able to perform his track but he showed his gratitude for being a part of the set nonetheless.
At 8:56 P.M. the screen changed to read Beyonce with a stunning photo of the songstress. The bee-hive began to rush to find their seats as this was the cue that the Renaissance was about to begin. Appearing from the clouds in the black drop in a black suede dress with diamond-crusted flowers as her breastplate she serenaded the crowd with her first solo single Dangerously In Love. After performing just one song the Renaissance Founder received a one-minute-long standing ovation from her fans. Continuing to set the tone for the musical journey ahead she finished Act One with Flaws and All, 1+1, I Care, and River Deep Mountain High as a dedication to Tina Turner.

In the next act, she dived into her Renaissance bag and changed into her finest silver fashions with a pink floor-length mink - because make it fashion! This set began with a clip of her cameo on Lift Off mixed into 7/11 where the Les Twins commanded the stage to do what they do best, entertain! The crowd on night 1 set the bar high for the two upcoming shows as the Sofi Stadium went completely mute during Beyonce’s performance of Energy. With the crowd's energy at an all-time high and Mrs.Carter feeling herself, she stopped to give the crowd an important message.
“The mic is warm.”
Warm it was. Her live vocals are astonishing and remained in tune and on point the entire night. As the show moved into the opulence phase the hive anticipated the arrival of the prodigal Blue Ivy Carter who did not disappoint. It is clear that Blu is finding her comfort zone being on the big stage. This might have been her best performance yet! Making her exit with her signature heart hands and sassy walk, the crowd cheered her on with great support and excitement.

Beyoncè’s latest materpiece Renaissance displays her creative genius and versatility on all levels. She put it all on the floor giving the audience everything they’ve been craving including Thique, All Up In Your Mind, and the Dubai rendition of Drunk In Love. The night ended with Queen Bee floating on a silver horse above the crowd giving us vocal heaven with Summer Renaissance.

Just two days away from her 42nd birthday Beyoncè is continously working and making history. After 26 years in the game, she continues to raise the bar for artists and performers with every tour. Whether you were a fan of the Renaissance album or not, this tour has something for Beyonce fans of every era that is unforgettable. She will hit the stage on September 2nd and again on her birthday September 4th at the Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles. Which night do you think will get the best show?
