The LOX, who are considered to be Hip Hop royalty around NYC, may hail from Yonkers but soon they will get their own mural in the South Bronx.

On Wednesday, a clip showcasing the mural was shared on the group’s social media accounts, soundtracked by Jadakiss’ 2001 hit “We Gonna Make It”

The trio voiced their thanks for the honor and gesture with captions that read “The Lox Mural in South Bronx 🔥. We appreciate you.” The group also promoted their upcoming concerts in New York, adding “Got some shows at Irving Plaza and Rochester coming up. See you there.”

Signing with Bad Boy Records in 1996, The LOX are considered one of the greatest groups to come out of New York over the past quarter century and are well respected by generations of fans.

The group has appeared on albums by The Notorious B.I.G. (Life After Death), Diddy (No Way Out), and Ma$e (Harlem World) before unleashing their own platinum-certified debut, Money, Power, & Respect in 1998.

Departing from Bad Boy the following year, the trio signed with Ruff Ryders and returned in 2000 with their critically acclaimed sophomore album We Are The Streets.

After a hiatus of nearly two decades their third studio album Filthy America…It’s Beautiful was released in 2016. Their most recent project was released in 2020 entitled Living Off Xperience
