Hip-Hop's 50th Anniversary: The Gucci Mane Effect

Gucci Mane’s contributions to Hip-Hop have solidified his spot on Trap Mount Rushmore. We give Gucci his flowers as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop. We discuss it here!

As the celebration of Hip Hop’s 50th Anniversary continues, there have been a lot of props paid to various pioneers of the culture. A pioneer I want to pay homage to is Gucci Mane. The East Atlanta native and self-proclaimed TrapGod is for sure an architect of the Trap Music genre. He has helped put on many of the artists in this generation of southern rappers. I look at Gucci Mane as the Red Auerbach of rap.

Dr. Dre is given a lot of credit for discovering talent, but Snoop Dogg is the only one he made an icon; you can throw Eminem in there, although he was already bubbling and self-made on the battle scene in Detroit. 50 cent was similarly brought to him. There are a lot of instances in Dre's case where young apprentices didn't work out, from Lady of Rage, Hittman, to Bishop Lamont leading to an endless list of promised albums and collabs that never came to fruition.

The complete opposite goes for Gucci Mane, who is not credited to be as influential to Hip Hop as Dr.Dre but is just as intricate in the growth of the culture, particularly in the South. The Lemonade rapper has been the epicenter of the rap game for the last 20 years.

Gucci Mane - Bricks (Official Video

To understand how and why Gucci is so great at recognizing and cultivating talent, you have to understand his journey. Not wanting to be an artist initally, a natural hustler, Gucci wanted to be like Jermaine Dupri, orchestrating things from behind the scenes. Unlike many label owners of his generation, Gucci Mane did not have to sign an artist to push and support them, which is understated in this industry full of Puff Daddy’s and Bird Mans. If he liked and believed in an artist’s talent he would throw them on a track amplifying their careers. The Gucci Mane effect includes, but is not limited to Young Thug, Waka Flocka Flame, OJ Da JuiceMan, Future, Zaytoven, Mike WIl Made It, Lex Luger, Southside, Nicki Minaj, The Migos, and Pooh Sheisty.

Legend has it that Gucci Mane signed Young Thug to a Bag of Money before ever hearing him rap. Thug was brought to Gucci by the late Atlanta legend, Pee Wee Longway, who told Gucci to sign him on the spot. Only needing Pee Wee's blessing, he signed Thugger that night. Young Thug slept in the studio that night, starting his journey to be the biggest rapper in the game through Gucci’s push. In the same year, the New York Times Best-Selling Author signed The Migos, making collaborative projects with both that helped blow them up.

The first time Future caught my ear was on a Gucci Mane track called ‘Sometimes,’ on the original TRAP GOD mixtape. A certified banger. Gucci Mane was the first artist to make a collab tape with Future in 2011 titled FREE Bricks. He recognized the potential in the multitalented artist before he started penning records for the biggest pop stars in the game like Beyoncé.

Gucci Mane and Future

Gucci Mane and Future

Having difficulty blowing up in New York, Nicki Minaj was steered to Atlanta and Gucci Mane’s 1017 label, providing her opportunities through Waka Flocka’s Manager/Mom. Gucci then connected Nicki with the Trapaholics, who would be the vehicle for her legendary Beam Me Up Scotty Mixtape. This project got her snagged up by Young Money and the rest is history.

Gucci Mane’s ear for beats is also severely underrated. Zaytoven is Gucci’s first in-house producer, crafting the sound of countless mixtapes and his first two albums, Trap House and Hard 2 Kill. Zaytoven’s awkward piano-heavy sound would be synonymous with Gucci Mane’s awkward slow flow that would become one of the most prolific MC/Producer combos alongside The Guru and Premier. Since then, Zaytoven has become one of the most sought-after producers in the game, producing for The Migos, Drake, and Future’s most classic tape to date, Beast Mode.

Gucci Mane also discovered teenaged Mike Will Made It before he became the biggest producer in the world, producing billboard hits for Miley Cyrus during her urban radio phase. Mike Will produced various tracks for Gucci Mane before blowing up commercially, including the legendary Trap Back series. Featured in that Trap Back series were also Lex Luger and Southside, young producers signed to 1017 that crafted the sound of trap music for the rest of the decade. You can hear Lex Luger on two of Rick Ross’ biggest records BMF and MC Hammer (featuring Gucci Mane). Southside went on to become one of the most popular producers in rap. Producing the majority of Future’s classic mixtape Monster before becoming an integral part of the drill sound.

Despite his upward trajectory in the trap music genre, Gucci Mane was sentenced to three years in prison for a gun charge putting a halt on his fast progression. This was a time of transformation for the Bricks rapper coming to back society clean, sober, and in shape with chiseled abs. Some people believe the glow-up was too unreal and dubbed him a ‘clone’.

After Gucci Mane was released, the rest of Hip Hop immediately blessed and embraced him with opportunities like the ones he had provided for so many before. The fruits of his labor paid off from the seeds he helped water as the hottest artist in the game immediately paid their blessings to the Trap God upon his return. Drake gifted him a track for his album,’ Back on Road,’ and also hopped on Gucci’s track ‘Both’. Migos pulled in Gucci to be a part of their classic album, Culture for the track ‘Slippery’. Young Thug paid hommage and hopped in the video ‘Guwop’s Home,’ and Mike Will put Gucci on his first Billboard #1 with his group Rae Sremmurd’s smash ‘Black Beatles’.

Gucci continues to exhibit the work ethic that made him undeniable in the mid-2000s. He dropped 6 albums in 6 years and established a new wave of young artists with his new 1017 imprint, including the currently incarcerated Pooh Sheisty.

Gucci Mane is a legend who has cemented his place and legacy on the Mount Rushmore of trap music. A Rushmore that features Jeezy, TI, Gucci, and Future, respectively. Unlike TI and Jeezy, you can see the influence Gucci Mane has on the current artists. I can hear Gucci Mane in Young Thug, Young Nudy, and 21 Savage, as he has outlasted his peers on the Trap Rushmore, eclipsing Young Jeezy and TI in musical longevity and relevance. As we celebrate 50 years of Hip Hop and its remarkable and vast story; we must realize that this story could not be told, without Gucci Mane.

Christmas will never be the same, as R&B songstress Brandy is set to release a collection of songs this holiday season. A&R executive Jaha Johnson took to social media to reveal the singer's next project, while also dropping a possible hint at the title for the upcoming festive album: 'A Brandy Christmas.'

Further examination of the whiteboard in the clip also provides a glimpse of how many songs could be included on the LP. Ramsey can be seen placing 11 titles on the board as he attempts to arrange them in order. Fans can also spot some of the potential track titles from the holiday album. The introduction appears to be called “Feels Different,” while the second track is titled “Celebrate My Baby.”

While a date for the Christmas album wasn’t given, it could coincide with Brandy’s next film. In March 2022, Brandy revealed she is set to star in Netflix’s original film, Best. Christmas. Ever.

The comedy directed by Mary Lambert will feature the singer playing the role of Jackie, a woman with a seemingly perfect life. However, when a 'twist of fate' unexpectedly reconnects Jackie with her old college friend, Charlotte (Heather Graham), just before Christmas, Charlotte is determined to prove that Jackie's life isn't as spectacular as it seems. Her attempts to expose Jackie end up doing more harm than good, and Christmas is nearly ruined. It's up to the two of them to right the wrongs. The film also stars Jason Biggs from Orange Is The New Black and Matt Cedeno from 'Power.' Best. Christmas. Ever is scheduled to be released on Netflix on November 16, 2023.

On Tuesday, September 12, 2023, Breaking Sound, a global platform, hosted an event at Adults Only to showcase up-and-coming artists. Chala Shirae, an underground singer, stepped foot on stage to show off her vocal skills and definitely gained some new fans.

I Want You Around - Snoh Aalegra Cover by Chala Shirae

Chala has continuously made a name for herself. From Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Los Angeles, California, she has shattered the mainstream image and carved her unique path. Chala mentions how she used her music to escape from reality and she wants to be able to touch others around the world so that she can do the same for her fans.

My music is different. It has a nostalgic early 2000s vibe with a modern twist—very R&B, very pop, with a hint of a throwback classic feel in some of the songs.
— Chala Shirae

From her unique look, charisma, and angelic voice to everyone she has worked with in the past, Chala has taken charge of her sound and put matters into her own hands. Collaborating with P-Diddy himself, Stevie J, Keith Harris, Matt Cash, and many more, you can only assume that this girl will soon be a BIG deal.

I see my music growing in the next year and reaching audiences I haven’t reached yet! Through bookings and performances, I’ve been gaining momentum, so I’m hoping to be featured on a few Spotify playlists to really get the ball rolling.
— Chala Shirae

Chala Shirae has just released a new single called "Someway, Somehow."

Everyone should expect an upbeat, poppy, feel-good song about unrequited love. It’s about convincing yourself that you will get the person you want—even if they don’t want you back. Ha ha.
— Chala Shirae

From the looks of it, Chala will soon be at the top of the billboards and hopefully working with her dream artist, André 3000. To stream her music, you can search "Chala Shirae" on all platforms. This is a moment you will not want to miss out on!

Last night Beyoncè shut Inglewood down as night 1 of 3 of the Renaissance World Tour began at the Sofi Stadium. Everyone got the Queen’s wardrobe requests as the entire stadium shimmered in their finest silver fashions for the occasion. If you’ve ever seen Beyoncè in concert before, you know that she doesn’t curate an opening act kind of show. With all of the star quality in LA, she switched up her game. Who better to get a crowd warmed up than DJ Khaled himself?

Bringing some of his comrades along for the ride, Khaled summoned 2Chainz to the stage to perform an ode to the Virgos with Birthday Song. There were also performances and appearances from Wiz Khalifa, Roddy Ricch, Coi Leray, Offset, and the legendary Lil Wayne. Due to technical difficulties, Weezy wasn’t able to perform his track but he showed his gratitude for being a part of the set nonetheless.

At 8:56 P.M. the screen changed to read Beyonce with a stunning photo of the songstress. The bee-hive began to rush to find their seats as this was the cue that the Renaissance was about to begin. Appearing from the clouds in the black drop in a black suede dress with diamond-crusted flowers as her breastplate she serenaded the crowd with her first solo single Dangerously In Love. After performing just one song the Renaissance Founder received a one-minute-long standing ovation from her fans. Continuing to set the tone for the musical journey ahead she finished Act One with Flaws and All, 1+1, I Care, and River Deep Mountain High as a dedication to Tina Turner.

In the next act, she dived into her Renaissance bag and changed into her finest silver fashions with a pink floor-length mink - because make it fashion! This set began with a clip of her cameo on Lift Off mixed into 7/11 where the Les Twins commanded the stage to do what they do best, entertain! The crowd on night 1 set the bar high for the two upcoming shows as the Sofi Stadium went completely mute during Beyonce’s performance of Energy. With the crowd's energy at an all-time high and Mrs.Carter feeling herself, she stopped to give the crowd an important message.

The mic is warm.

Warm it was. Her live vocals are astonishing and remained in tune and on point the entire night. As the show moved into the opulence phase the hive anticipated the arrival of the prodigal Blue Ivy Carter who did not disappoint. It is clear that Blu is finding her comfort zone being on the big stage. This might have been her best performance yet! Making her exit with her signature heart hands and sassy walk, the crowd cheered her on with great support and excitement.

Beyoncè’s latest materpiece Renaissance displays her creative genius and versatility on all levels. She put it all on the floor giving the audience everything they’ve been craving including Thique, All Up In Your Mind, and the Dubai rendition of Drunk In Love. The night ended with Queen Bee floating on a silver horse above the crowd giving us vocal heaven with Summer Renaissance

Just two days away from her 42nd birthday Beyoncè is continously working and making history. After 26 years in the game, she continues to raise the bar for artists and performers with every tour. Whether you were a fan of the Renaissance album or not, this tour has something for Beyonce fans of every era that is unforgettable. She will hit the stage on September 2nd and again on her birthday September 4th at the Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles. Which night do you think will get the best show?

The DJ @kittysayword was bumpin’ all of that ‘Jaguar II’ singer’s many classics, as well as songs that she wrote for other artists. Not limited to all of your favorite Arianna Grande songs, Do It by Chloe and Halle, On The Way by Jhene Aiko, and the list goes on.

As for the food, the guests for the event were provided vegan and meat options such as tuna tartare tacos, hamburgers, garlic fries, sweet potato taquitos, and a unique spin on beef fajita tacos. With an open bar, the drinks never ran out meaning that the listening party easily became a singing party. The night ended with a blast of acapella “on my mama” voices. Victoria was grinning from ear to ear. I know this was a night to remember. Make sure give ‘Jaguar II’ a spin available on all streaming platforms now. The project will speak volumes to your soul.

The Legendary Tale of Toddy Tee and Mixmaster Spade

In honor of the 50th anniversary of Hip-hop, this is the story of the legendary West Coast music duo Toddy Tee and Mixmaster Spade. We discuss it here!

247 Live Culture
Toddy Tee and Mixmaster Spade

The Legendary Tale of Toddy Tee and Mixmaster Spade

By: Vince Wilson

The year 2023 is the year of the ever-evolving culture and music we call Hip Hop. Born in 1973 in the borough of Bronx, New York, Dj Kool Herc threw a party that would become the inception of today's most popular form of music around the world. Hip Hop would eventually spread throughout the states, and make its way to a small town on the West Coast in California called Compton. I’m talking about Toddy Tee and Mixmaster Spade.

Mixmaster Spade

Mixmaster Spade

Before becoming pioneering West Coast MCs, Toddy Tee and Mixmaster Spade met in grade school as dancers and pop lockers who liked each other's style and the friendship grew from there. In the 70s when Mixmaster would visit his grandmother in New York in the 70s, he would bring back tapes from The Treacherous 3 and The Crash Crew. He would see the DJs throwing block parties in the park and be inspired to come back to LA to get his first DJ set and mixer, inevitably making his mixtapes in 1983. Mixmaster Spade was known for pioneering the sing-rap style that would become more common in the 90s with artists like Nate Dogg and Bone Thugs N Harmony.

Toddy Tee would first gain notoriety around Compton and South Central LA as a teenager making tapes and parody raps. Taking popular rap songs of the time, Like ‘Roxanne, Roxanne’ and flipping it to Roc Man Roc Man or flipping, ‘I need a beat’ to ’I need a b*tch.’ Their mixtapes would go platinum in the hood as Toddy Tee and Mixmaster Spade would push them throughout the city and swap meet shelves as their tapes became bootlegged throughout California to the Bay.

Toddy Tee

Toddy Tee

Hearing Toddy Tee, Leon Haywood a soul and funk artist and producer scoured the Compton streets searching for young rappers like Mc Serch, looking for Nas in Queens Bridge. Leon Haywood's name probably doesn't stand out much, but you know his music, with his 1975 song “I Want'a Do Something Freaky to You’, which would be sampled by Dr. Dre and become the foundation for ‘Nothin' But A G Thang’. He would sign Toddy Tee to his label EveJim, produce and master his local hit, which would become his biggest song to date, the Batteram. The catchy chorus and hypnotic beat would set Kday airwaves on fire in 1985.

Toddy Tee

The Batteram was LAPD's new weapon of choice, a tank-like vehicle used to bash down doors and houses in predominantly black and brown Los Angeles neighborhoods. The Batteram was military weaponry, a product of Reagan’s ‘War on Drugs’ in the 80s and a budget that ballooned for police and mass incarceration in the coming decades. Toddy Tee was rapping about what was going on in his neighborhood, something pre-internet and social media, there wasn't any way to know unless national news picked it up or word of mouth. Batteram is the West Coast version of The Message, becoming an example that hip hop can be more than just party music and have a more authentic meaning to depicting black life.

Toddy Tee and Mixmaster Spade would continue to release songs in the mid and late 80s including local favorites like ‘Genius is Back,’Gangsta Boogie,’ and ‘Do You Want to Go to the Liquor Store.’ They would team up to release their second biggest song post-Batteram in ‘Just Say No.’ Also released a video, Just Say Now an anti-drug record during a time when crack was consuming inner cities around the nation. The duo would continue to release music throughout the 80s and early 90s as a more raw form of gangsta rap would gain ground causing Toddy Tee and Mixmaster Spade to eventually fade out of relevancy rather fast.

Toddy Tee Ft. Mix Master Spade - Just say no (1986)

Toddy Tee and Mixmaster Spade’s impact was undeniable as the first of their generation, inspiring a wave of West rappers that would take over the next decade, while also helping usher in a new crop of West Coast talent, including King Tee, Compton Posse, and super producer Dj Pooh under Mixmaster Spade’s label imprint LA Posee. Toddy Tee would influence a young Eazy-E to rap and before he was with N.W.A., Toddy Tee had a young Dr. Dre produce a couple of tracks for him after seeing the young DJ spin records. The West Coast trailblazer would even bring block parties to Compton like Mixmaster witnessed in New York.

In Hip-hop's 50th, there has been a lot of reflecting on the greats and pioneers of the storied history of the culture, and Toddy Tee and Mixmaster Spade are essential to that story. Toddy Tee and Mixmaster Spade ignited West Coast rap. They deserve their flowers.

Rip Mixmaster Spade.

Just recently, the streets of Culver City were set ablaze as Ken hosted an unforgettable soirée, the 304 Hour, at the swanky Canopy Club in Culver City. This celebration marked the release of her EP 'Back to 304’n,' and each cocktail boasted the essence of her chart-topping tracks – from the lively rhythms of 'Keep Going' to the unapologetic vibes of 'I Love A Freak' and the fierce energy of 'Poppin Shit.' Amidst the flow of libations, Ken worked the room with finesse, dancing, and networking, all the while showering gratitude on her supporters.

With tracks like 'Not My Nigga,' amassing over 20 million streams and setting TikTok ablaze, KenTheMan's unfiltered authenticity is waking the world up to her talent.

R&B legend and eight-time Grammy award winner Lauryn Hill announced on Tuesday a 17-day tour for her seminal album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Joining her on stage to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the iconic release will be the Fugees, the Hip Hop group she was a part of in the 90s. The group last reunited at the 2023 Roots Picnic in June; this will be the first tour for the Fugees in years. The tour is set to begin in September with the latest date slated for November. The iconic group will hit stadiums and arenas all across the world including Brooklyn’s Barclays, and the KIA Forum in Los Angeles with international stops in Austria and New Zealand.

The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is and was a love song to my parents, my family, my people, my musical and cultural forebears, my teachers, my loves, my Creator. I wrote love songs and protest songs — (still love songs) about the subjects and interests that inspired and moved me. I was confident that what inspired me would resonate with an audience that had been led to believe that songs of that kind could only live in the past.
— Lauryn Hill

Her influence on stars in both past and present is undeniable!

Lauryn Hill opened a lot of doors for us. She’s how I got my start. Before I even got signed, when people asked me to sing to them, I would sing Lauryn Hill’s version of “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You.” I sang that song for Pharrell. I sang that song for Jimmy Iovine. It’s how I got my first record deal.
— Teyana Taylor / Billboard
This album sets the bar very high for me. I can take away so much from this body of work — most importantly, feeling what I’m singing about and connecting it to people’s lives in a real way.
— Normani

The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill was the first and only solo album the songstress created. In 1999, the album earned 10 Grammy nominations. The “Ex-Factor” singer also won 5 Grammys, including Album of the Year, which was the first time a hip-hop artist won the award. The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill shattered the glass ceiling for Black women in the music industry, an environment usually dominated by men. While the R&B soul legend never released a sophomore album, her work has continued to shape culture and music. Her upcoming tour will allow old and new fans to re-experience the influential, history-making album.

Presale tickets will be available for Citi cardholders beginning Aug. 22 at 10 a.m. local time until Aug. 24 at 10 p.m. local time.  Tickets will be available for public sale Aug 25 at 10 a.m. local time. Check out the tour dates below!

By: Sharmaine Johnson

Get ready, Team Breezy, because your moment in the spotlight has arrived! Brace yourselves for the greatness of Chris Brown, as the King of R&B graces us with the visual for his latest single 'Summer Too Hot'. The video is a testament to his unparalleled artistry, featuring impeccably executed choreography that flaunts the talents of his dancers from every era of his career. Helmed by the visionary director Christian Breslauer, this audiovisual masterpiece is an homage to those cherished summer days we all hold dear.

It’s evident that summer is Chris Brown's signature season to create, and he's taking full advantage. The Grammy-winning singer/songwriter took to social media to spill some tea: his eleventh studio album is on the way. Titled '11:11', this album is set to be a gem of brevity, containing a mere 11 tracks – a departure from his trend of expansive tracklists. Cast your memory back to last summer when he unleashed the expansive 'Breezy (Deluxe)' with a staggering 33 tracks or the musical journey of 2019's 'Indigo' housing a grand total of 42 songs. It appears that this time around, Brown is embracing simplicity, going back to the core of his musical genius – a move that has us all onboard and excited.

Chris Brown recently teamed up with the fabulous Ciara for a collaboration that's making waves – 'That's How We Roll'. This dynamic duo brought their A-game to the track, blending Chris's smooth vocals with Ciara's electrifying energy. The song is all about good times and dancing, and it's hard not to move to the infectious beat. Chris Brown and Ciara's signature moves come together like a match made in dance heaven, giving us another reason to enjoy this last piece of summer.

With 'Summer Too Hot' and now 'That's How We Roll', it's safe to say that Chris Brown is taking over the season with his incredible music and collaborations. The multi-talented sensation has once again positioned himself to rule both the airwaves and our hearts with his undeniable charisma and talent. Usher’s My Way Residency at the Dolby Theater inside of the Park MGM in Las Vegas has been the talk of the town since it began in 2022. With countless viral moments from his serenading fans and celebrities with his sultry vocals and love songs, he has every woman wanting to be in the front row at this show. Some of the internet's favorite girls like Kim Kardashian, Issa Rae, Taraji P. Henson, Saweetie, Kimora Lee Simmons, and Winnie Harlow get the Usher treatment. But the most talked about moment of the residency so far has been with our good sis, Keke Palmer.

The “pop moment” as the Grammy Award-winning artist calls it, caused some controversy about boundaries in relationships online but he has not fallen into the trap of negativity. After weeks of silence Usher finally shared her perspective on what has been going down at his iconic shows in Las Vegas with People Magazine.

“Every night I’m thinking about how the world now is going to react to this moment that I’ll have with whoever I’m choosing to sing to… but it was a pop moment, and it was fun to have at least conversation going, and we just keep it light. I don’t see anything negative happening in Las Vegas.” -Usher

Keeping that momentum and positive energy flowing R&B superstar teased a new single called ‘Boyfriend’ yesterday on social media. Guess who the leading lady is? That's right, the one and only Keke Palmer. The trailer is only about 15 seconds showing glimpses of both artists in different spaces with no words or sound. Once you arrive at 0:10 seconds of the video, you hear Usher's memorizing voice say “I heard your boyfriend is looking for me”. It’s safe to say the internet wins again and we are getting some new music from the King of R&B out of it.

By: Sharmaine Johnson

If you’ve been waiting on some new good music the wait is over! On August 10th, we were granted an exclusive sneak peek into Reason's brand-new masterpiece, ‘Porches,’ during an electrifying listening party that lit up South LA. If the name Reason isn't ringing any bells, allow us to introduce you to this bonafide lyricist. Back in January 2016, he came onto the scene with his inaugural mixtape, "The Free Album," grabbing the attention of hip-hop heads far and wide. And just a few months later, in May, he dropped yet another sonic gem titled "There You Have It," showcasing his mind-blowing rap prowess.

But here's where destiny truly smiled upon Reason: his fateful encounter with the visionary Moosa Tiffith, his manager. Brace yourself for this: Reason teamed up with musical titans like Mozzy and Sjava for Kendrick Lamar's chart-topping hit, ‘Black Panther: The Album.’ Talk about a come up! Riding high on that collaboration's success, Reason scored an invitation to join the ranks of Top Dawg Entertainment, a powerhouse collective housing luminaries like Kendrick Lamar and ScHoolboy Q.

Fast forward to today, where Reason finds himself at the helm of his very own album listening party, signed under one of LA's top-tier record labels. ‘Porches’ is more than an album; it's a tapestry manufactured from smoky soul beats and vibrant narratives. But then again, what else can you expect from the lyrical genius that is Reason? With guest appearances from the likes of London Moet, Ray Vaughn, Doechii, and more, we knew we were in for a night drenched in fantastic melodies and soul-lifting vibes.

Reason

Reason shares a heartfelt speech during the listening party for his new album ‘Porches’ on August 10, 2023.

As custom cocktails named after album tracks flowed the bodies in the crowd swayed to the intoxicating rhythm of Reason's new masterpiece. And just when the energy was at its peak, Reason made a spectacular entrance into the celebration. He began by expressing heartfelt gratitude for everyone's presence, setting the stage for the musical journey that Porches was about to take us on.

When he unleashed the track "FTN!" featuring Baby Tate and Junii, the entire venue came alive. The silky R&B vibes and the mesmerizing melody crafted by the hands of Hollywood Cole captured hearts and transported us back to the golden days of the early 2000s. Paying homage to his cherished California roots, Reason unveiled "Family First," a collaboration with Kalan.Frfr, SiR, and Zacari. This masterpiece, produced by the talented Supah Mario, not only showcased their adoration for their loved ones but also put their naysayers in their place.

After treating us to a few more musical treasures, Reason took the stage once again, this time to honor the friends and family who stood by his side throughout this artistic journey. With a heart full of gratitude, he presented them with bottles of Herradura tequila, a symbol of their collective triumph. ‘Porches’ isn't just an album; it's a rare gem that boasts impeccable production, lyrics dripping with substance, and an overarching message that resonates deeply. If you're on the hunt for music that's as pleasing to the ears as it is to the soul, look no further—this masterpiece is now available on all streaming platforms.
