Terence Crawford dominated Errol Spence Jr. Saturday Night in Las Vegas and that may be an understatement.

I must admit like most boxing fans of this generation, I only come around when big names are attached or when the stakes are at its absolute highest. However the build up for this matchup has been bubbling over for quite some time and now the question who is the best 147 -pound fighter of this era can be officially put to rest.

After a slow first round for both fighters, the former undisputed junior welterweight champion eventually began to take over the fight with a flurry of jabs. The first knock down came off a counter jab followed by a left straight in the second round. Spence was able to beat the count and continued to push along but Crawford was a man on a mission. Simply put, “Bud” was too fast, too technical and too powerful all night long. There was no question who was in control at this point.

It seemed as if whenever Spence would gain any momentum, Crawford would send out a jab that routinely stopped Spence dead in his tracks. As the fight continued, Spence looked lost as Crawford landed his jab and straight left hands with surgical precision.

Spence would hit the canvas two more times in the seventh but continued to try to find a way to change momentum but to no avail. Crawford’s deadly attack had Spence reeling and by the ninth round, the referee had no choice but to call the fight at 2:32 left in the round.

With the victory, Crawford unified the WBA, WBC and IBF titles with his WBO title and also became the first male fighter ever to achieve undisputed status in two weight divisions in the modern four-belt era.

“It means everything because of who I took the belts from. They talked bad about me. They said I wasn't good enough and I couldn't beat these welterweights. I just kept my head to the sky and kept praying to God that I would get the opportunity to show the world how great Terence Crawford is. Tonight, I believe I showed how great I am.” - Crawford

I honestly don't think we need another fight but when asked afterwards if he would be up for a rematch a motivated Spence Jr. responded, “Hell yeah we gotta do it again.”

The winner usually dictates whether or not that's a possibility but after what the world witnessed Terence better take this time to gather his thoughts. I'm not sure he wants those problems again. Crawford’s performance was special because of how dismantled his superstar opponent from start to finish and not some low level novice. He arguably saved the best performance of his career for a future hall of famer. We have to give credit where credit is due, that was a performance for the ages.

Black Twitter Erupts After Nate Robinson's Knockout Loss To Jake Paul

By: Omar Cook

In what was just supposed to be the undercard of the heavily anticipated fight between legends Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr., turned put to be one of the most talked about sporting moments of 2020. Former NBA star Nate Robinson faced off against youtube star Jake Paul in what was his professional boxing debut. It was very clear from the jump that Nate Robinson did not belong in the boxing ring.

Jake Paul dominated the entire match knocking down Nate Robinson multiple times and eventually knocking him out in the second round! "You don't play boxing," boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard said. This was an embarrassing display to say the least and it showed just how difficult it is to be dominant in multiple sports.

With all of the racial tension that has been building this year, Black twitter was definitely pulling for Nate Robinson as this would have been a major victory for the culture! After Deontay Wilder took an L to Tyson Fury in the heavyweight title match back in February, we’ve been waiting for something to brag about, but this was a letdown to say the least. And of course, Black twitter would not let this moment die down without getting their jokes off first!

Yes, it’s been rough for our guy Nate Robinson but there are people out there who have some compassion. Interesting enough, boxing legend Floyd Mayweather chimed in and came to his defense!

Again, this was just the WARM UP to the main fight. Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. squared off for a battle of the ages, literally, as both boxers stepped into the ring surpassing 50 years old! This was amazing to see as they went head to toe for the entire 8 rounds with no knockdowns and the fight ended in a draw, despite Tyson clearly dominating the match but Tyson was still happy with the results. "This is bigger than fighting and winning the championship," Tyson said after the fight. "We're humanitarians and we're helping people." Roy Jones seemed to be gassed during the match but held his own and Tyson still looked extremely powerful with his punches! Salute to the legends for putting on a show!

Hopefully Nate Robinson can bounce back and redeem himself because social media is a wild place and these memes show no mercy to anyone! As for the Black twitter community, we will just have to wait once again to get some redemption!

Okay Floyd, we love you, but how many times you planning on retiring and coming out of retirement? I mean damn. We get it though, money talks and this is a business. Floyd Mayweather announced that a rematch with Manny Pacquiao is in the works for this year.

154.7k Likes, 7,357 Comments - Floyd Mayweather (@floydmayweather) on Instagram: "I'm coming back to fight Manny Pacquiao this year. Another 9 figure pay day on the way..."

In the interaction Pacquiao tells Mayweather, "I have the belt," and Mayweather responds, "I'm going to take it from you like I did before." I feel like these dudes have been beefing since ‘93. Mayweather is 41 and Pacquiao is 39 turning 40 at the end of the year. This fight which will be a major pay day no doubt, will be like watching your two old ass uncles who still hold a grudge from 12 years ago go at it.

The last time these two fought each other was on May 2, 2015 and Mayweather won in 12 rounds by a unanimous decision. Mayweather who is (50-0, 27 KOs) earned a guaranteed purse of $100 million but brought in about $220 million in total. The bout itself resulted in 4.4 million pay-per-view buys which was double the previous record of 2.48 million for the 2007 fight between Mayweather and Oscar De La Hoya. It also brought in more than $400m in domestic pay-per-view revenue. This kind of pay day would wake anyone up from retirement. We get it.

Floyd Mayweather has only fought twice since then with a win over Andre Berto in September 2015 and a 10th-round knockout of Conor McGregor in August 2017. Pacquiao who holds a record of (60-7-2), is coming off a sixth-round stoppage of Lucas Matthysse in July. and is serving as the Senator of the Philippines. Mayweather told us after the McGregor bout that "this was my last fight." This was obviously a lie. Expect this fight to come around December, the fight we all didn’t ask for but are getting just because.
