Coco Gauff has been trailblazing through her intense tennis matches at the US Open. During the first round Gauff played against Germany’s Laura Siegemund. During the game, Gauff noticed Siegemund pace was extremely slow throughout the match so she decided to point it out to the Umpire. Even the crowd noticed that Siegemund was never ready when it was time for Gauff to serve, the crowd even let out an uproar when the Umpire disagreed with Gauff.
Gauff was issued a time warning, and Siegemund was penalized a point for a time penalty during the third set. Siegemund then complained about her penalty to the Umpire, but the crowd was still on Gauff's side. Gauff took the victory by winning the first round and advancing to round 2 where she played 16-year-old Russian teenager, Mirra Andreeva and won.

Among the many stars on the court, Boston Celtics All-Star NBA Forward Jaylen Brown made history by joining team “BIG3”. He is the first active NBA player to participate in the increasingly popular 3-on-3 exhibition. Brown recently made headlines for signing the largest contract in NBA history, a 5-year, $304 million supermax extension with the Boston Celtics.
Before his appearance on the court, Ice Cube took to Twitter to show his appreciation for Brown while also explaining to his followers the magnitude of his participation.
Jaylen Brown is my hero. He’s making a humongous statement by being the first current NBA player to play in a BIG3 game. By suiting up for our All Star game tomorrow, he’s doing everything in his power to help the league succeed. Salute. Forever grateful…

Cube then followed up with another take on Brown’s participation.
“ I was blown away. I asked him if was he sure he wanted to make this move. He was like, ‘Yo, I wanna do this for the game, for the players, and it’s a big move for the league.”
The BIG3 league comprises mostly retired and former NBA players on their rosters. Brown’s involvement with the league may open the door for more active players to do the same.

For years, Simone Biles has garnered praise from fans, with many hailing her as the ultimate champion. Once more, she demonstrated her worthiness of that accolade at the 2023 U.S. Gymnastics Championships, held on Sunday August 27th in San Jose, California. She secured three titles, Biles achieved the distinction of becoming the oldest woman to conquer the all-around category. Also, she etched her name in history as the inaugural gymnast to claim a total of eight U.S. all-around titles.
Dominating the competition, the athlete clinched the gold for her remarkable performances in both the balance beam and floor exercises. Her overall two-day score of 118.45 showcased her prowess, with impressive scores of 29.300 on the balance beam, 30.200 on the floor, 28.400 on uneven bars, and 30.550 on vault. Adding to her victories, she secured a bronze medal for her exceptional uneven bars routine, as reported by GMA.
Since her debut in 2013, Biles has amassed an impressive collection of 27 U.S. titles and 35 medals from national championships. With seven Olympic medals to her name, including the title of 2016 Olympic individual all-around champion, her achievements are nothing short of remarkable. In 2021, Biles made headlines when she chose to prioritize her mental health during the Tokyo Olympics, withdrawing from both the team and individual all-around gymnastics events. This decision was prompted by a moment during the vaulting competition where she felt disoriented while mid-air.
At the age of 26, the athlete previously held an all-around national championship record jointly with Alfred Jochim, who secured seven men's titles spanning 1925 to 1930 and 1933. However, her recent victory has propelled her to surpass this 90-year-old record.
The 2023 U.S. Gymnastics Championships, however, left spectators amazed by her prowess. As she concluded the floor exercise during the final rotation, the gymnast earned a standing ovation from the audience of nearly 12,000, serving as a powerful reminder that she is still widely regarded as the Greatest of All Time.
Following the competition, Biles received an invitation to become a member of the USA Gymnastics 2023-’24 Senior Women’s National Team.

US Sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson brought home the trophy dramatically Monday at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary. She barely edged ahead to capture the victory in an entertaining women’s 100 meters final. Richardson, who started in the less-than-desirable lane 9, won the gold setting a personal best while simultaneously setting a championship record with 10.65 seconds. That's only .16 seconds behind the world record set by the late great Florence Griffith Joyner. Richardson is currently tied for the title of fifth-fastest woman over 100 meters in history.

The American and Jamaican rivalry was alive and well in the women’s 100 as Jamaican sprinters finished second and third. Olympic bronze medalist Shericka Jackson earned the silver medal in 10.72 seconds. Two-time Olympic gold medalist and the 2022 100-meter champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce claimed the bronze in 10.77 seconds.
“I feel amazing. I feel like hard work pays off. I’ve been dedicating myself. I’ve been keeping my faith strong this season and just believing and knowing whatever you practice is what you put forward, and I’m grateful. ”
The 23-year-old has been on pace to become one of the biggest stars on the track but was hit with a one-month suspension in 2021 after testing positive for marijuana. She later expressed that her actions were a result of her mourning her mother. Despite the negativity and push back Sha’carri remained dedicated to her craft and is now a world champion. Richardson shared that running in the outside lane on Monday was symbolic of her determination and focus.
“I was by myself in my own world, which honestly has been like that all my life. I’ve always been in my own world, my own element, so being in lane 9 was perfect for me to do what it is I know to do and to focus more on myself. And when I celebrated it was because I felt like I did my best no matter what the result was going to be. I felt like I did my best. ”
The World Athletics Championship was her first global event since the Olympics. The 2023 champion is also slated to compete in the 200 meters which will be contested Wednesday through Friday. Sha’Carri has performed extremely well this season, posting a then-world-best time of 10.71 in the 100 meters at the US Championships. The LSU standout is also one of six women in the pool for the 4x100-meter relay team. Richardson continues to break records and boundaries as she is now the first American 100-meter world champion in six years.
