Ms. Black CA USA Participants Discuss the Process of Becoming Queen

By: Adonis Armstrong

The Official Miss Black California USA represents an organization that empowers and celebrates young Black female leaders. They go beyond being just a pageant, forming a unique sisterhood of women who use their voices, talents, and skills to contribute to society. The pageant crowns three winners who will then compete for the national titles of Miss Black USA, Miss Black USA Talented Teen, and Ms. Black USA in Washington DC. The Miss Black USA Organization aims to empower women to embrace their power, voice, and redefine the concept of a compassionate, confident, and beautiful Black woman in today's world.

Antina Campbell and the three lovely Queens, Gentel Sharrie, Taylor Williams, and Trinity Parish, have been going strong for 9 months, preparing for the pageant. They will be judged on talent, walking, and Q&A, so Mrs. Campbell has been ensuring their mental clarity and focus. All the Queens have been finding balance in it all, approaching the process with an open mind, redefining their beauty, and building a network of womanhood.

Antina Campbell is the director for the Miss Black USA scholarship pageant. She has been involved in pageants for 6 years as a pageant mother and has served as the director for 2 years, appreciating the opportunity to help younger black women become all they can be. Additionally, she has booked a few commercials this year and will continue to display her talents as an actress, director, writer, and producer, as she mentioned on BoomBox Weekly.

Gentel Sharrie, the current Ms. Black CA USA, is a talented actress, writer, and producer. She is manifesting her aspirations to become a series regular on a major TV show and has also debuted some of her work, as she mentioned on BoomBox Weekly.

Taylor Williams, the current Miss Black CA USA, is currently a systems engineer but has aspirations of becoming a producer for sports media. She enjoys the camaraderie of sports, particularly the atmosphere surrounding football, as she mentioned on BoomBox Weekly.

Trinity Parish, the Miss Black CA USA Talented Teen, is a queen of all trades, currently in high school with aspirations of pursuing a career in sports medicine and getting into the real estate business. Additionally, she plans to pursue higher education at Delaware State University, an HBCU she mentioned on BoomBox Weekly.
