Tone Stith Talks New EP 'P.O.V', Writing For Chris Brown & More
By: Omar Cook
New Jersey R&B artist, Tone Stith, has been dropping nothing but heat since he came on the music scene and his newest EP, P.O.V , certainly didn’t disappoint. Tone released his highly anticipated 7 track project under RCA records with no features and every song is a smooth banger.
The project kicks off with the laid back track “Smoking In The Park (Paradise)” which sets the tone for the entire project. Tone has been consistent with his projects and is setting the stage to drop his first album very soon. With the momentum building from this project, Tone is set to go on tour with singer Victoria Monét.
Aside from making his own music, Tone Stith has written songs for other artists in the game including R&B superstar Chris Brown, where he wrote on his song “Liquor”. Tone has some major inspirations from legends in the game, specifically the late Prince, who he has tatted on his arm.
Tone spoke with us on episode 18 of BoomBox Weekly Podcast and shared some insight into his career and inspiration for other artists trying to make a name for themselves in the music industry.
“For that artist out there that’s pursuing music and wants to make a career out of it, just go for it and make sure you’re in tune with yourself and what you want out of this and what you want your message to be to the world because I think that’s very important too. That’s the driving force.”
