Diddy Donates 1 Million Dollars to JSU’s Development Fund

Even without “Primetime” stalking the sidelines, Jackson State University continues to make national headlines. Business Mogul and Hip Hop icon Sean “Diddy” Combs kept the promise he made at last year’s BET Awards, where he pledged to make two 1 million dollar $1 million dollar donations to HBCUs, Howard University, and Jackson State, after receiving the prestigious lifetime achievement award.
Combs, who attended Howard University for two years before leaving to intern at Uptown Records, never forgave the advice his grandmother gave him.
Diddy has committed to making multiple donations in installments over the next several years. His philanthropy didn't stop there, however. Earlier that day at the “Earn Your Leisure” podcast Invest Fest in Atlanta, “Brother Love” announced a $1 million investment fund with the Black-founded financial literacy platform, while founders Troy Millings and Rashad Bilal shared the stage.
Puffy is one of the few celebrities who are putting their money where their mouth is. Hopefully, others will do the same. Investing in our culture makes the future brighter for everyone. Combs, back in 2016, pledged $1 million to his alma mater to establish the Sean Combs Scholarship Fund.
