Ghost and Tommy make their highly anticipated return to late night television with Power: Origins a prequel to the original Power series. STARZ recently announced the series’ fourth spinoff is in the early stages of development.
The Power universe has been all gas no breaks since the original series ended in 2020. With both ‘Raising Kanan’ and ‘Power Book IV: Force’ filming their new seasons and ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ gearing up for its highly-anticipated series finale, it seems as if things won’t be dying down anytime soon.
Origins will center around the origin stories of James “Ghost” St. Patrick and his partner-in-crime, Tommy Egan. Both of whom were brought to life by Omari Hardwick and Joseph Sikora in the original ‘Power’ series.
“As we approach the 10-year anniversary of Power it is incredible to witness the enormous connection our fans have with the Power universe. We can’t wait to see how ‘Origins’ will further evolve this dynamic franchise while bringing fresh, gripping, and expansive storytelling to our audience.”
Shortly after the official announcement, 50 Cent who portrayed Kanan Stark in the original series, took to Twitter/X to deliver to fans this exciting news.

Kanan Stark is a fan-favorite of the series and his origin story can be seen in ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan.
The cast of ‘Origins’ has yet to be announced, but fans are enthusiastically requesting that Hardwick and Sikora reprise their roles as narrators. Similar to what 50 Cent does on ‘Raising Kanan’.
The series will be executive produced by original Power creator and showrunner, Courtney A. Kemp, through her production company End of Episode, as well as Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson through G-Unit Film and Television and Mark Canton through Canton Entertainment.

As writers across the entertainment industry go on strike, major support from entertainers and fans have poured in.
Hip-Hop icon Snoop Dogg, shared his opinions on the current streaming models that have led to the Writers Guild of America initiating a strike in order to secure better compensation. On Wednesday, May 3 that the California rapper participated in a panel at the Milken Institutes’ Global Conference, according to Variety.
“The writers are striking because [of] streaming. They can’t get paid. Because when it’s on the platform, it’s not like in the box office. I don’t understand how the f**k you get paid off of that s**t” Snoop stated. “Somebody explain to me how you can get a billion streams and not get a million dollars? That’s the main gripe with a lot of us artists is that we do major numbers, but it don’t add up to the money. Like where the f**k is the money?”
The strike makes the first walkout in over 15 years and it could have a huge impact on the entertainment industry over the next year if not resolved properly.
The WGA went on strike after unionized workers raised concerns about inadequate pay with the growth of streaming. Despite negotiations between the writers’ representation and a trade association for the Hollywood studios, they failed to reach an agreement, leading to the call for a walkout.
As a result of the ongoing strike, several popular TV shows in Hollywood, such as "Abbott Elementary" starring Quinta Brunson, and 50 Cent's "Power Book III: Raising Kanan", have halted production.
There is definitely a major need for artists with major followings and platforms to support the writers. In this day of AI and advanced technology, it’s important to protect the true creators of this world and support them as they strike for better changes.

He took to his instagram to show the early development of the facility that will be transformed into G-Unit Studios, a multi-purpose complex for music production, television, and film. The move is not entirely surprising, given 50 Cent's deep ties to the music and entertainment industries. He has previously launched successful ventures in both areas, including his record label G-Unit Records and his production company G-Unit Films.

Last month, 50 Cent expressed regret about his success at Starz. Over the past decade, the network has aired several hit series produced by 50 Cent, including Power and Black Mafia Family. On Twitter last week, 50 Cent reflected on his success and admitted that he wishes he had created his TV universe at a different network. He also announced that he no longer plans to adapt any more BMF spin-offs or sell any other shows to Starz.
