The Apollo Announces Honorees for 2023 Spring Benefit That Headlines Diddy and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

The Apollo has revealed its lineup of honorees for the 2023 Spring Benefit, which includes its CEO and President Jonelle Procope, Sean "Diddy" Combs, a multi-entrepreneur, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, a NBA legend, and Warby Parker, the eyewear brand.
For over 89 years, The Apollo has been a hub of vibrant activity and progress. This year's programming theme, appropriately titled The Next Movement, showcases a mix of established shows, popular performances, and innovative new works by artists who are pushing the boundaries of their respective art forms. These artists include those working in music, dance, fashion, film, and more.

The annual fundraising event at the historic venue in Harlem, New York, will have the theme The Next Movement is scheduled for Monday, June 12, 2023. The event will feature the presentation of awards to Sean "Diddy" Combs, who will receive the Icon Award, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who will be honored with the Impact Award, and Warby Parker, who will receive the Corporate Award for Outstanding Leadership in Innovation, Diversity and Global Community. Additionally, the event will serve as a tribute to Jonelle Procope, who will be honored for her 20-year journey with the organization, as she steps down as the CEO and President.
MC Lyte, Wyclef Jean, and DJ D-Nice are set to perform to commemorate the 50th anniversary of hip hop at The Apollo's Spring Benefit. The show's music director for the 12th consecutive year, Ray Chew, will also be returning to the stage. Attendees can purchase tickets, donate, or request additional information about this year's Spring Benefit at www.apollotheater.org. The event's proceeds will be utilized to support The Apollo's innovative performing arts, education, and community initiatives, which serve 200,000 people each year.
