Natural Hair Growth Tips
Spraying your hair with water is one of the most important practices! Add to your spray bottle to enhance hair growth benefits for example: Rose Water, Aloe Vera Juice, Peppermint essential oil, and Rosemary essential oil
Deep Condition for 30-45 minutes after your shampoo. Sitting under a hooded dryer or plastic cap will do just fine.
Pre Poo, although not necessary, but if it works for you then continue. It can help with SSK (Single strand knots) and the detangling process.
Hot oil treatments, should be done throughout the year. Especially during the winter when the environment changes frequently.
Trims - pay attention to your hair because it will let you know when it’s time for a trim. Do you get split ends when you do a two strand twist ? Or that curl doesn't quite curl and the end? It might be a good idea to get a trim. You can either have professional do the trim or you can do the trim yourself. It’s up to you and your comfort level.
Massaging the scalp - This can encourage blood circulation and promote healthy hair regrowth and natural hair growth.
Drinking a lot of water is very important and it should be the first thing that you put in your body and the last thing at night before bed.
Taking multivitamins, weather it be in pill form or liquid form. Consult your family physician before taking any multivitamin. It’s good idea to find the right method and discuss any changes with your healthcare provider.
Diet - just like the saying goes, “ Garbage in, garbage out.” Make sure you are balancing your habits out with some leafy greens and exercise.
Detangle your hair - Use the finger method or if you find that that just won’t do the trick, try using conditioner like Aussie Moist line which provides great slip and use a wide tooth comb to help with the detangling method. Never detangle or manipulate on dry hair. This will cause breakage and split ends!!!!!
Hair growth oils - Add oils that aid in hair growth like Olive Oil, Jamaican Black Caster Oil, Jojoba Oil, Peppermint Oil, Rosemary Oil
Cleansing Shampoo - Please do your scalp a favor and make it happy! A happy scalp will give you healthy hair growth and retention. Find a light moisturizing shampoo that will not strip all of the oils from your hair. I am currently using Texture ID cleansing shampoo.
Good protective practices for bedtime - Tying up your hair or wrapping it in a slick scarf or bonnet, and or pillow case.
Hope this helps those of you who are looking for guidance. If we missed anything or you would like to add to this list, comment below and let us know! Don’t forget to check out all our other posts on hair care!

Hello Naturals,
It’s spring time and I find myself looking in the mirror and wondering what to do with my hair? Here, are some of my tricks and preferred hairstyles during the warmer months.
Tip #1: Use hair jewelry as an expression of your unique style. Personally, I love gold braid cuffs! They are cute jewelry pieces that can be purchased at your local beauty supply store. I am sure you have already seen them on many of the your natural hair sistas! They come in different patterns and designs.

Tip#2: Pinterest, is still a really good place to seek hairstyle ideas. I use it here and there to get my creative juices flowing. It helps when you just no clue what style to go with that week. Side note try not to compare hair length, and growth with the ladies on there.
Tip #3: High buns, quick and easy and look great with that dress you bought a week ago. Try buying statement pieces to add to your outfit. I bought these beautiful gold butterfly earrings for date night. When in doubt do a high bun is my answer, you can never go wrong with a good bun.

Tip #4: I caution all my naturals with this suggestion and it’s adding color! Now, I know you want to color your hair, but do little research first. Make sure your moisture game is on point. Moisture, is essential for natural hair growth, and during the coloring process moisture tends to leave the hair. Keeping and maintaining your color is a job in itself, just make sure you are ready to commit. If you not add color with extensions or wigs. I always stress knowing your hair type, because ultimately that can play a role in how your hair takes colour and keeps it. Remember, everything in moderation and use your judgement call on high manipulation styles.
Disclaimer: Seek a professional consultation and or stylist when choosing to colour. They will be best person to advise you on the colouring process.

Tip #5: Last but not least, for my brides-to-be, there are many websites and magazines that now offer styling ideas for naturals. I am amazed at the diversity in styles now available to us! I see many trends with flowers being incorporated into the hair, so wear your crown with pride and add a little floral inspiration. If you’re feeling diva-like rock that diamond accent piece to bring out that wow factor. As the old saying goes, “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend”.-Song by,Carol Channing,"Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend"
